Colin Bryce created and built the "World's Strongest Man Arena Tour" known as: GIANTS LIVE along with Darren Sadler my business partner. Giants Live is a series of Strength Contests that lead to the World's Strongest Man finals - where Colin swaps roles from in front of the camera to behind - where he is the Tournament Director's job. Hopefully ensuring the best men and the most exciting yet safe
events to decide the World's Strongest. Colin has overseen the sporting and qualifying aspects of World's Strongest Man since 2005. But I did compete at the Olympics in 2002 for Great Britain, in Bobsleigh. I was also a professional Highland Games athlete. As well as doing strongman (coming 7th at Britain's Strongest Man 1999). I also competed at 2x World Championships in Bobsleigh and the 2002 European Champs. On a side note I qualified for the British Athletics Indoor Shot Put Finals and finished 6th in 2008. But it wasn't a good year for British Shot Putters -so please don't ask me what distance I threw in that final as it certainly wasn't my best! STRONGMAN - Before 2005 there was no clear cut qualifying route to get to WSM. Colin's Super Series Tour he co-owned with Ulf Bengtsson and Odd Haugen became the first Qualifying Vehicle for WSM
Until 2017 Colin's main role was the Head Referee of WSM and commentator - since then he brought in Magnus Ver Magnusson to take on that role as the sport was growing and the stakes were getting bigger for the professional athletes now taking part. Colin now oversees every sporting aspect as the Tournament Director. WSM is getting more and more professional each year and it is now harder to win than ever before. And I am of the belief that since taking over in 2005 we have found the true WSM each year. though it's getting tighter and harder to adjudicate. I believe the ht balance of events and stress and result is proving that to be true. But do let me know if you are a fan - as I do this job for all of us and love to hear feedback. Colin partnered up with Darren Saddler, the 4x WSM competitor, not long after starting the Tour. The two have since taken it from carparks to some of the best indoor arenas in the world and can boast the largest weightlifting and strength crowd at any strength event in the World. Achieving a near sell out of almost 11,000 tickets sold to Europe's Strongest Man in 2016 - at the First Direct Arena
Colin also commentates multi-sports (inc. WSM for the Xmas TV on Ch5 UK) but also for BBC as a Winter Sports expert. at the Olympic Games and Weightlifting and Wrestling in the Summer Games. Every year Colin does the International Luge tour live announcing on Discovery's Eurosport - where ehe has commentated on over 30 different sports and even a few comedy shows since 1999. Looking forward to making ore big strongman events around the world in the future. Big Love to all who follow and engage on this page - I appreciate opinions whether they are friendly or critical - have your say!
