A lovely way to spend lunch, tasting a classic example . It had plenty body, showing off generous ye**ty, and marmite like notes - typical of a experience. Though primary fruit flavours were a little light on the mid palate. Definitely could do with more time in the bottle. Still very youthful for its age!

At a gin cocktail inspired event at the launch last night with live old school blues. A stunning evening thanks to the many great people we met . My highlight was the contrast of the fuller body, strongly flavoured **rs with the lighter, fresh inspired cocktails that went down like a treat.

There could be far worst days to be introduced to the office on your first day 😉🥂🍾. We tasted a 1961 and 1987 with one of our clients. For the the ‘61, it impressed me the most, admittedly the acidity had dropped out, resulting in a mature and developed still white on the palate. Regardless, it was sensational though. The oxidisation and ageing in bottle had reached another level of maturity I had never experienced before. A very educational experience 👍👍👍.

An opportunity presented itself last night, I was kindly invited by Cheese at Leadenhall to present recommended with at a networking event. Incredibly, some of these wines were from countries that most would have not tried. As a result, people were very inquisitive about the pairings, making it all the more rewarding. For the whites - the mineral driven and deeply textured , and for the reds - the elegantly structured got people talking the most. It was a fantastic evening enjoyed by all. Well worth a visit Leadenhall Market.

An afternoon exploring and stumbled across this traditional French restaurant. I was not disappointed - the food was sublime: starting with a cod and gazpacho amuse bouche, then a pork terrine for my appetiser, followed by a rabbit risotto main and finished with a selection of local . The .haut bottle pictured here was as sophisticated as the pink nectar inside it. It was well balanced with red berry flavours shining through thanks to gentle maceration and low fermentation temperatures. The purity of the fruit was precise and on point. It also ticks all the boxes for a Rose drinker who loves the dry, pale and steely style of classic southern . In this example, it goes further with the generous, long length to match the dry finish. Thumbs up 👍

Gorgeous colours. wines are rare and mysterious for a Sauternes AC. Purely because they are made in only in the rarest and most perfect conditions from a 4 hectare vineyard. If this was not enough, they are also aged for 20 years in concrete tanks. You start to get the idea; true pieces of art. In this line up, the vintages just get better with age; outstanding depth of dried apricot in the older vintages of 1979 and 1982 is just true heaven. To sum up: the older, the wiser with these little beauties.
