About last Friday ….
What can I say ..thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️ for a truly, magical surprise party to celebrate my birthday, Scott’s belated 60th and our 2 year anniversary. 🥰😍😍😘
And what melted my heart and made it beyond special were the amazing people who came especially those who flew across oceans and had long work days with early starts … trust me I am truly grateful to have met you all along my life’s many adventures and privileged to have you as dear friends. 😍
To every other dear friend that was there for whatever reason please know I cherish and love you all.

What a hoot and special night that was.

Have to give another special shout to somehow arranging for a very special person in my life who I haven’t seen forever. Shirley thank so so so much for coming .. can’t believe it is 30 years ago as a slightly ‘in my own head’ and definitely two left footed 17 year old I stumbled across and you appeared like a vision in all your glamour and amazingness in Trade Lite singing and dancing to a house version of Sade - and from then you helped me come out of my shell and boy did we dance every weekend away with you and and my amazing friend

So finally saying goodbye to chic, cool Chicago. The Drake hotel has been the perfect home with wonderful views over Lake Michigan.

Another beautiful afternoon soaking up some culture at The Art Institute of Chicago … not only did we just manage to catch the final days of one of favourite artists Frida Kahlo, but there were some iconic pieces from American Modernism and the likes of Edward Hopper (always more impressive to see them in reality) and of course some of my beloved Impressionists (Gauguin, Pisarro, Cezanne) which I could just about remember enough (from studying them at Uni a million years ago now) to try to impress Scott with my knowledge of (not sure it worked though 🤣)
But always makes me “full” for want of a better expression to enjoy these works of art up close and personal x

So my day’s surprise started like this .. all serene driving through the Mojave Desert in our beloved Mustang .. but then Scott’s surprise simply blew my mind .. he gets it so right (a life long dream to skydive and parachute) when we got there I had to fight back the tears I was so touched and emotional ..thank you from the bottom of my heart .. this memory will live forever ✈️ 😍🪂

So Venice Beach..
It was eveything and more than I thought it would be .. the setting, atmosphere and overall vibe was “such fun”
Some key moments::
*Finding our new set of 💍
*Trying to mingle in with men on Muscle Beach 😂
*Having constant giggles with Scott doing silly things
*Stumbling across the best afternoon house party (and getting the best seats in the house of course)
*Getting our first caricatures done .. who they made resemble Prince William and who Freddie Mercury - you can guess 🤣
*Reenacting my Pamela / BayWatch moment
*Absolutely breathtaking beaches and scenery
