RADIAL BLOOM is a 90-minute workshop in dried and preserved botanicals; birch and ginkgo in rust, burgundy magnolia, deep indigo oat, bleached palm, ink-black flax. Where the material becomes a way of mapping a season of your life.

Working outward from a single centre point, in the way tree rings widen or a fingerprint spirals, you’ll build a radial arrangement stem by stem, deciding what sits at the core and what moves toward the edge. There’s no arranging experience required and no correct answer. This isn’t floristry, it’s documentation: a physical record of a moment, feeling, or stretch of time you’ve chosen to hold onto, made instead of written down.

This is for anyone who’s been meaning to mark a season and hasn’t found the right form for it yet, a birthday, a breakup, a return to somewhere, a version of yourself you’re ready to let go of. No experience needed, just something you’re carrying that wants a shape.

Groups are kept small, so you’ll have room to work slowly and quietly, with guidance throughout on both material and meaning. By the end, you’ll leave with a finished piece to take home and keep.

Threads that remember. Stories that stay.

Join me on Saturday, 5 September, at Palestine House for an introduction to Palestinian Tatreez — exploring the history, symbolism and regional diversity behind the patterns before sitting down to learn the foundations of cross-stitch and create a small piece of your own.

Tatreez is more than embroidery. It is a living language of identity, memory and belonging, passed down through generations and carrying connections to place, family and Palestinian life.

Whether you’re completely new to Tatreez, reconnecting with a familiar tradition, or simply curious to learn, this is a space to slow down, stitch by stitch.

No previous experience needed. All materials are included.

Participants will explore the traditional process of transforming loose wool fibres into a solid textile surface using water, soap, friction, and pressure.

The workshop offers a tactile and sensory experience that develops patience, focus, creativity, and hands-on skills. At the same time, participants learn a specialised craft that can be developed into functional and artistic products, such as accessories, home objects, textiles, and artworks. The skill can eventually be developed into a personal business or source of income through the production and sale of handmade pieces or customised products.
