International Dog Day feels like a good excuse to talk about Winnie 🐾❤️

She's my world. My little constant companion on editing days - curled up under the desk or stretched out in whatever patch of sun she's found, and I love her little nose nudging me for more cuddles as I work! There's something so soothing about having her close through the quieter side of this job, all the culling and editing that happens after the wedding day is over. Plus she forces me to get out of the house for a walk and not sit in front of a screen all day!!

I've photographed a fair few dogs at weddings over the years, and I love it! The pups get nearly as many portraits as the couple, because how could you not?! Dogs don't perform for the camera - they're just themselves, which is exactly why I love them.

It means something, having your dog with you on your wedding day. They're family. I love being trusted with those moments.

I'll also say this... I've got something new in the works that involves rather a lot of dogs, and I'm looking forward to sharing it properly before too long. Watch this space!

There is nothing quite like that moment when you've just said your vows and you come tumbling out into the world as a married couple for the very first time.

Khristianne came out absolutely beaming and then Glen pulled her straight in for a kiss, and honestly it was just the two of them in that moment, completely lost in it. Nobody directed any of that. It was just real.

These are the moments I live for, and why I'll always say yes to a London wedding.

Imagine slipping back into your evening reception for your cake cut and seeing footage from earlier that same day already playing around you.

Your wedding becoming part of the atmosphere while it’s still unfolding. Moving images flickering behind conversations, candlelight and champagne towers, creating this incredible backdrop to the evening as everyone settles into the celebration.

There’s something so cinematic and immersive about it. Less polished highlight film, more living inside the feeling of the day in real time.

I photographed this concept recently at a styled shoot and honestly, it felt like a glimpse into where weddings are heading. It's super atmospheric and story-driven so I'm totally here for it. I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing a lot more of this over the next few years.

It’s a beautiful new vineyard venue just outside Bath, and Hannah, Mel and the team created such a gorgeous, elegant set-up across the space.

I can already tell this is going to be a really special spot for couples planning a vineyard wedding in Somerset.

My Top 5 Prompts for Editorial Couple Photos (That Still Feel Like You)

As a wedding photographer, I lean into natural, candid moments - but that doesn’t mean we can’t create something that feels elevated, refined, and straight out of a magazine spread.
Here are five of my favourite prompts to bring that editorial edge without losing the real connection between you:

✨ 1. Walk with purpose.
Hold hands, chat, laugh, look at each other (or don’t!) Walking adds energy and movement, and it instantly takes the pressure off.

✨ 2. Let your hands lead the way.
Hands in hair, hands on faces, a gentle arm around the waist. Real connection always shows through touch.

✨ 3. Take a breath together.
Close your eyes, lean in, and just be still. It gives you a moment to soak each other in, and it translates beautifully on camera.

✨ 4. Vogue without trying.
One of you facing the camera, the other slightly turned away. Rest your head on their shoulder, lean in gently. Think editorial layout - simple shapes, strong lines, no forced smiles.

✨ 5. Lounge, lean, relax.
Sit down together, sprawl into each other, get comfortable. These moments feel unguarded and intimate - and help bring that beautiful softness to your portraits.

It’s not about posing - it’s about presence.
Natural doesn’t have to mean casual. Real doesn’t have to mean messy. It’s your story, just told in a way that feels polished, stylish, and completely you.
