In the rush of getting the new thing, the latest trend, the coolest attraction. We can miss what it’s growing already, what survives the seasons, what is steady. 🪴
I miss having a big garden and I have been resisting the urge to fill my new home balcony with “plants that I like”.
I wanted to study the behaviour of the light during the year, the heat of the summer, the winds of the winter, the warmth of a new spring and a lovely autumn. 🍂🌷🌵🌻
I think, more and more, gardening needs to be sustainable. Not effortless but, respectful of the environment.
So, here’s my 365 days balcony of survivors: 90% of these plants were a gift, a rescue, a spontaneous growth or propagated from a talea.
I think this is gonna be the theme of my balcony.
