Saved the best for last. Exploring the historic streets of Galle with Joe and Tharsika was an absolute highlight of the trip.

We started off in Galle town with a clear plan to explore, then hit the coast when the couple asked to grab some shots by the water. The rest of the session was just about having a laugh, swapping looks, and going with the flow, wrapping it all up the right way with cold milkshakes.

Big shout out to the local team at Lights and Magic for bringing the local knowledge and helping us navigate the area.

Following on from part one, this next chapter of Joe and Tharsika’s Sri Lanka celebrations kicked off outdoors with morning portraits. The morning was absolute non stop energy, but keeping cool under pressure and keeping things moving is second nature after twenty years behind the lens.

Later on, we took things inside for a complete change of pace. The sleek, moody resort architecture gave the portraits a sharp, editorial edge, with Tharsika’s pastel floral lehenga popping against every backdrop.

To top it all off, the night wrapped up with a brilliant sparkler exit surrounded by their favorite people. Pure energy, endless light, and the perfect way to finish the day.

Stay tuned though, there might just be one more set to drop from this trip.

Traveling to Weligama, Sri Lanka to photograph Joe and Tharsika’s wedding was incredible.

Heading across the world for this work never gets old, but keeping things small made this trip stand out. It was just me, the couple, and their families, which gave us the space to properly connect and build genuine friendships.

From unscripted moments sprinting along the beach with the bridal party to everyone dancing on the sand, the energy was unmatched. Photographing people who genuinely respect my work and just want to enjoy every second is what it is all about.

That early stretch of the morning before the timeline completely takes over is easily one of my favorite parts of the day.

Getting to hang out, shoot the bride’s details, and just chill while everything comes together makes for the best moments. Calm, warm, and totally unscripted.

“I don’t trust words. I trust pictures.” — Gilles Peress

Long after all is said and done, the image remains the undisputed record of truth.
Years down the line, memory naturally softens the details.

Words fade, conversations blur, and the exact sequence of events quietens with time, but a photograph holds the raw, unedited reality of the day. It preserves the unscripted glances, the unspoken tension, and the unfiltered emotion exactly as it unfolded.

While words attempt to recount how a moment felt, a photograph proves it.

When Kerrthana and Nish mentioned they wanted an urban, chilled-out vibe for their pre-wedding shoot, Shoreditch was the immediate choice.

I’ve wanted to incorporate the neighborhood’s massive street art murals into a session for a long time, and they were the perfect couple to collaborate with on it.

Just a little reminder for all my fellow creatives that the sky is the limit. It’s so easy to get caught up in wanting better gear or waiting for the “perfect” moment, but honestly? Your vision is the only thing that actually matters. Trust your eye, stop overthinking, and just go create.

When we talk about traditional Indian weddings, the phrase family bonds isn’t just a sentiment—it is the very foundation of the entire celebration.

Whether it is a North Indian or a South Indian ceremony, look closely at how the day begins. Before the couple even exchanges garlands or takes their vows, the first part of the ritual almost always involves the parents.

From the vibrant Milni in the North, where families embrace and welcome one another, to the deeply respectful Vratham or welcoming rituals in South Indian traditions, the message is clear: family is involved at every single step.

These opening rituals do more than just follow tradition; they set the emotional tone for the entire day. They honour the roots that raised the couple and officially welcome a new network of support, love, and community.

My goal is always to balance those essential formal family portraits with these raw, unfolding moments of connection, ensuring your gallery feels alive with the genuine energy of both your families coming together.
