🎭️ And finally, in our cast announcement for climate-themed play The Trials, taking place tomorrow and Sunday: we have Ray, Olive and Milan.

👉 Ray, if you could say one thing to people in leadership about the climate crisis, what would you say to them?
"Do better. Short and sweet!"

Ray just participated in National Theatre Connections with us at Longfield Hall, in Florence Espeut-Nickless' play, Ride or Die.

👉 Olive, what conversations do you hope people have leaving after seeing this?
"Maybe they can start thinking about what they can do to make the future better for young people like us, instead of making their future as good as it can be for the short period of time they have left. My eco tips are buying second-hand clothes from charity shops."

Olive has performed in three school plays.

👉 Milan, what made you say yes to joining us at Longfield Hall for this project?
"Before this amazing experience, I'd done some classes here, but I wanted to commit to something with an even bigger challenge. One of my teachers gave me that further push to go for it! I’m quite engaged in following the climate crisis because I’m politically aware. It's hard, with the wildfires in France and Spain causing a lot of people to be displaced - it's a bit scary right now."

Milan has just finished GCSE Drama.

🎭️ Next in our cast announcement for The Trials, we have Luca, Max and Chimamanda.

👉 Luca said they want The Trials to raise awareness of climate change because 'it's a very bleak version of what our future could look like!' He said, "I’d like people to think about what they’re doing in their life and if they could be a bit more eco-friendly in any way, make a tweak to their daily life to make sure that in 20 years we’re not doing this for real."

Luca's last performed with school in Bugsy Malone, and played a supporting role in the short film ‘Noah’.

👉 When Max was asked, 'If you could say one thing to people in leadership about the climate crisis?' he said: "Just please, just please do more. Treat this as a really serious issue because it is one. Just do it now."

This is Max's first big show! Welcome, Max.

👉 Chimamanda said they joined this project with Longfield Hall because: "I like that it’s local. It’s the closest theatre I have. I was a bit scared to come, but everybody here is so nice; nobody is judging anybody. I'm excited about the opportunity. I just thought I could do it, go for it!"

Chimamanda has been in her school production three years in a row.

🎭️ Next in our cast announcement for climate-themed play The Trials, we have Mia-Belle and Cam.

👉 Mia-Belle said of the climate crisis: "I’ve told my parents about the climate crisis but I feel like I could be doing something more. This play is definitely helping me do more for the climate crisis, I’m just beginning to realise how serious it is. I’ve noticed myself doing much more stuff to try to help, like changing my search engine to one that plants trees when you search."

Mia-Belle last performed as Anna in the school musical of Frozen.

👉 When Cam was asked 'how the arts help people engage with the climate crisis' he replied: "People feel emotions when they see plays. Sometimes I do. The impact of what we’re doing throughout the play can help people recognise things by giving them, like, an actual experience, a vision of what it's like to be in that situation."

Cam worked backstage in our most recent National Theatre Connections play, Ride or Die by Florence Espeut-Nickless.
