Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust is the custodian of the heritage of the Royal borough. It holds art and documents, as well as buildings such as Charlton House. But it does more than that. It helps preserve memories of important events.

One of those is the annual ceremony to remember enslaved Africans who lived in the borough in the 17th and 18th centuries. Each year members of the African Caribbean community gather in the Charlton House Peace Garden. The space was created two decades ago to provide a quiet, reflective setting for human rights and memorial events.

Here are some memories from this year's ceremony which was attended by RGHT CEO Janet Denne and the Mayor of Greenwich David Gardner, as well as members of the local community.
