Not every Sicily wedding needs to overlook the coast. Some are hidden within vineyards, lava stone, and the silence of Mount Etna.

Most couples searching Sicily wedding venues begin with the coastline.

Taormina terraces. Sea views. Grand hotels facing the water. Baroque courtyards in Noto. Historic tonnare along the coast.

But Mount Etna offers a completely different atmosphere.

The landscape feels darker, quieter, more textured. Vineyards spread across volcanic slopes, lava stone architecture disappears into olive groves, and weddings here naturally feel more immersive and connected to the surrounding landscape.

This side of Sicily suits couples looking for something less formal and more experiential. Long outdoor dinners, wine culture, layered scenery, slower schedules, and celebrations that feel shaped by the destination itself rather than simply placed within it. It’s also ideal for couples wanting more privacy than the usual coastal wedding circuit, with venues that feel intentionally hidden within the landscape rather than designed around the island’s more obvious destinations.

POV: The real pressure is time.

You’re not short of ideas. You’re short of time to sit inside them.

You’re not overwhelmed by the wedding.

You’re overwhelmed by everything else that doesn’t stop because you got engaged.

The travel. The businesses. The family.

The life that keeps moving while the planning is supposed to happen somewhere in between.

So what I do, quietly, in the background, is make sure the wedding never becomes another thing on the list.

For either of you.

You don’t sit in long briefings.
You don’t chase answers.
You don’t explain yourselves twice.

You make the decisions that are worth your time. Everything else moves without you needing to stay close to it.

And on the day, you’re just there.
Fully.
Together.

That’s the point.

POV: the planner behind the scenes

There’s a difference between a venue that photographs well and one that actually works.

Last week I spent time in Puglia walking a selection of masserie and private estates.

Not to “see” them, to test them.

How guests move through the space. Where a welcome drink naturally settles. What happens in that hour between ceremony and dinner when energy usually drops. Whether the transitions feel considered or quietly forced.

A courtyard can be beautiful. Does it hold 120 people comfortably at golden hour? A dinner setup can look elegant. How far is it from the kitchen when service begins?

These are the parts no brochure shows you.

And then there’s what matters most, the part you never photograph: the team behind it.

How they communicate. How they anticipate. Whether they can deliver at the level my clients expect without needing to be managed.

This is the difference between recommending a venue and standing behind it.

How to plan a multi-day wedding without it feeling complicated

Planning a multi-day wedding in Italy isn’t about adding more.

It’s about structuring it properly.

Welcome drinks.
Wedding day.
A final moment to close.

When it’s done well, it feels easy.
When it’s not, it feels disjointed.

If you’re starting to look at Italy and don’t know where to begin, that’s usually the point to bring structure in.

This is not the part of your life where you find out how it goes.

You’ve already done your research. You know what you want.
You have a sense of the day, the location, the feeling, how it should look and how it should feel.

What you need now is someone who has done this before. In this country, with these suppliers, at this level.

Someone who will deliver without exception, and without making the process something you have to manage.
We’ve planned weddings across Italy, Switzerland, Madeira, Portugal, and France.

Multi-day celebrations. Multicultural families. Eighty guests arriving from four different countries who’d never met each other.

Every time, the couple’s only job on the day was to be there.

That’s not a promise. That’s our record.

A small number of dates remain.

The most expensive mistake you can make? Choosing a venue based on a recommendation… without knowing it first-hand.

We don’t recommend a venue until we’ve stood in it.

Not a brochure. Not a photo. Not a referral from someone who visited three years ago.

We plan weddings at clifftop tonnare and private masserie in Sicily, wine estates and stone farmhouses in Chianti, historic palazzi in Florence, trulli estates in Puglia, villa gardens on Lake Como, clifftop villas in Ravello, island properties on Capri, mountain venues and lake estates in Switzerland, quinta estates in Madeira and Portugal, and château and farmhouse properties across France.

Some of the venues we recommend don’t take public enquiries. They work with planners they have a relationship with. That took time to build. It’s part of what you get when you work with us.
