Forty Under 40 Awards is building its independent judging panel

From Ghana to the UK, South Africa, Africa, Globally in Dubai, and the USA, Forty Under 40 celebrates the young leaders shaping business and society.

We're inviting founders, senior executives, experienced professionals and past honourees to join our independent judging panel.

Judges review nominations online and score them against our published criteria. Please apply only if you can commit 20 to 40 hours

Career Achievements: Throughout their professional journey, David Dickson has accumulated significant accomplishments reflecting dedication and expertise. Starting as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor after leaving school in 2002, David graduated from Derby University with a BSc Hons in Construction Management in 2009.

Joining Miller Knight in 2016 as Commercial Manager, but quickly being promoted to Managing Director and now CEO, David has built the team from less than 5 members of staff to now over 150 in just over 10 years, scaling the business from less than £1m in T/O, and in substantial debt; to last year completing £41m T/O with a nett profit of £10.34m EBITDA and circa £11m cash in bank.

Community & Professional Impact: Beyond their organizational role, David Dickson remains actively committed to community contribution and sector advancement. David is a big advocate for driving cultural change and was the focal point behind our Building Safety Forums in 2024 and 2025.

Held at the iconic Aston Villa Stadium with over 100 attendees, the free-to-attend event provided accessible information regarding building compliance, fire regulations, and expert led talks from industry leaders, striving to bring stakeholders, property managers, and industry professionals to engage and collaborate in building a safer future.
