Ben Pierre (the new alias of previous trance act Ben Mitchell) ventures fourth into organic house with support from the likes of Mixmag, BBC Introducing/Radio, Gareth Emery, Marsh and more. With a fresh new EP on All Day I Dream artist Lisandro's 'Flug Lab' label, Ben Pierre is making further inroads into organic house with a melodic, progressive twist. Sporting previous releases in both ambient and progressive, it comes as no surprise that the fast-rising producer/DJ has stepped into the realms of deep and organic house, gathering support from the likes of Anjunadeep, All Day I Dream and Monstercat Silk mainstay artists on the way. Natural ambiences, close-up elements within nature and catchy melodies form the signature quirks of Ben's productions, from the waterdrops of 'Laguna' (Spring Tube) to the distant waves in 'Yemaya' (Flug Lab). When he's not producing nature-inspired organic house, Ben's spinning on the decks, featuring his own works as well as that of Lost & Found and ADID mainstay artists. 2022 is set to be a skyrocketing year from Ben Pierre and the 23-year old musician is showing no signs of slowing down!

A while ago, we behind the editorial desk at Magazine Magazine asked Ben Pierre to put together a “Sound of” chart because a standard list of current club records would explain only one part of what he does and it’s something I wanted to dig in a bit more into after a few successful remixes he did for the label.

The chart explains what Ben selects and how he writes, and our short discussion with him shows why certain records have remained with him and delves into his distinct approach to selection and the creative production process.

Ahead of an incoming Magnetic Magazine Spotify takeover, we invited Ben Pierre to curate a collection of 50 tracks that have inspired and defined his sound over the course of his musical career.

Featuring forward-thinking productions from the likes of Marsh, ENAMOUR, Volen Sentir, MXV spencer and Jamie Stevens (Jamie Stevens) to name just a few, it’s an insight into Ben’s distinct sonic palate - a variety of tracks from easy-listening electronic through to those that are right at home on the dancefloor.

The Ministry of Sound debut - just wow! 🤯

Truly an honour to play at the iconic , let alone perform alongside such an incredibly talented lineup. It was a pleasure to continue on after a stellar set from and finishing the night alongside Spencer Brown and Lloyd Barwood rocking the adjacent rooms was just the icing on the cake - truly bucket list stuff and I’m still pinching myself after this one.

Many thanks to the team for having me on closing duties as well as organising such an unforgettable show and thank you so much to everyone who came along to dance the night away - you were awesome!

Also much love to the 5am crew on slide five who brought the energy right until the very end! ✨💫

Happy Friday, all! Spring is finally here, as is my new remix of ‘Lillian’ from US-based Discogniton and Vellichor, out today on Magnetic Magazine Recordings.

It’s such an honour to say I’ll be making my Ministry of Sound debut in April alongside this lineup of epic talent. So grateful to be performing at this legendary clubland institution, and many thanks to the great folks at Free From Sleep for having me back in town again. ADE 2025 - that’s a wrap! It is always such an incredible event and I have come back feeling so inspired after seeing so many friends, fantastic artists and music gurus descend on Amsterdam for those five days. It’s full of so many random moments and that’s what makes it so special each year, with some great memories made.
