Saffron Caterers & Events was born from a simple idea: to bring bespoke, high-quality food and truly personal service to events.

Saffron founder, Gareth Thomas, trained at Leith’s before working in some of the UK’s most prestigious kitchens. He went on to open the award-winning Rose & Crown in Highgate, where he saw an opportunity to create something different for events — food with the same care, creativity and attention to detail as a great restaurant.

And so, Saffron was born!

Today, Gareth leads the kitchen, while Dawn Thomas looks after marketing and the client experience. Together with their wonderful team of experienced event managers, who work behind the scenes to make sure every celebration runs like clockwork.

Unloading our camera roll from the weekend…
Change-of-season weddings are still some of our favourites. Warm enough for an outdoor reception, portrait room doors thrown wide open, and that gentle evening sun catching the beautiful wooden panelling.
But what we loved more than anything? Those deep, dark florals set against the wooden fireplaces — elegant, cosy and utterly scrumptious.

2027 wedding trends we’re predicting 👀✨

We’ve been keeping a very close eye on what’s coming through for 2027 couples and honestly… we’re VERY excited.

🌸 BIG, overflowing florals — bouquets that are basically a floral explosion. More movement, more texture, more is more.

🎨 Colour is coming back — and we are here for it. Think pops of colour through florals, stationery, table styling, bridesmaid dresses and all those little details that make a wedding feel like you.

🍽️ Goodbye boring table layouts — we’re expecting to see much more fun and creative wedding breakfast set-ups. Think different table shapes, interesting layouts, long tables mixed with rounds and spaces that feel a little less traditional.

🎁 Luxury favours with ALL the detail — beautifully made, personalised and actually worth taking home. Because if we’re doing favours, we’re doing favours properly.

Summer might be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean the wedding fun has to! In fact… autumn weddings might just be some of the cosiest, prettiest ones around. 🤎

BUT… cooler weather, earlier sunsets and the odd bit of British rain do mean there are a few things worth having up your sleeve! 👀

Here are our autumn wedding essentials:

☔️ 1. Umbrellas
Because let’s face it… this is Britain 😂 Keep a few handy for those surprise showers — and they can actually make for some seriously cute photos!

🧺 2. Blankets
Cold guests = grumpy guests. Nobody wants that! Pop out a basket of cosy blankets for anyone feeling the chill and let everyone snuggle up.

🔥 3. Outdoor heaters
Because just because it’s chilly doesn’t mean the outdoor party has to stop! Outdoor heaters are perfect for keeping everyone toasty while they enjoy those crisp autumn evenings.

What. A. DAY 🤍 Charlie & Jack tied the knot right where it all started — their university home, where they met and fell in love 🥹💛

So many laughs, so much love, and DISCO BALLS EVERYWHERE 🪩✨ The sun was blazing — did that stop anyone dancing? Absolutely not! And how amazing was that evening set from the Bride’s Dad?! 🎶💃 total vibes all night long.

Speeches? Nobody kept their eyes dry 🥹😭 Just pure magic from start to finish.
