πβ‘ UK Accelerates Decarbonisation in Logistics and Freight
The UK freight and logistics sector is rapidly advancing its transition toward zero-emission transport, with major operators deploying electric heavy goods vehicles, expanding charging infrastructure, and trialling new delivery models.
Companies such as Royal Mail and Wincanton are rolling out electric HGV fleets supported by the Electric Freightway and ZEHID programmes, while retailers like Marks & Spencer are combining battery-electric and biomethane trucks to reduce operational emissions.
At the same time, infrastructure innovation is progressing with Voltempoβs megawatt HyperCharger system, designed to support ultra-fast charging for heavy electric trucks across the UK.
π¬ With fleet electrification accelerating, government incentives expanding, and multimodal delivery models emerging, could the logistics sector become one of the fastest-moving industries in the net-zero transition?
