Thank you to everyone who's found this page over the last few weeks.

It's been lovely reading your comments, especially on the Maggie Smith clip.

I share a lot more on Instagram: behind the scenes from Downton Abbey, Rivals and Gentleman Jack, stories from auditions, the odd card trick, and far too many photos of my cat, Sushi.

If you'd like to see more, you can find me here: instagram.com/brendan_patricks.

Rivals is back on Disney+ on 11 November, and I'll be posting plenty in the run-up.

Can finally talk about this one.

Confirmed: I'm joining the cast of Blackmere, a new Charlie Brooker series for Netflix — out early 2027.

Genuinely good company: Lena Headey, Rory Kinnear, Georgina Campbell and a stacked ensemble.

Can't say more than what's already out there (NDAs), but wanted to share the news properly.

Two years since we lost Maggie Smith. We spent a couple of days in and around this scene — dancing together for most of it. This bit, we finally got to sit down. It's a two-shot: both of us in frame at the same time, which tells you something about how generous she was as an actor, always happy to share the moment. I LOVE jazz. I forgot to ask her opinion... Wish I had.

Occasionally, I try to watch a scene (that I'm not in) through a monitor on set. It's a completely different feeling than the finished, edited scene and you can learn a lot from seeing another actor's raw performance. I wrote a little blog bit about one time that stuck with me. Link in bio...

Current read. Parable of The Sower by Octavia E. Butler. Written in 1993. Set throughout 2026. Scarily prescient. Sci-fi at its best by one of its greatest writers.
