Our Pride Bake Off always brings out a healthy dose of friendly competition – but the best part is getting together over an impressive selection of homemade cakes, all in aid of a good cause 🧁

While we loved sampling the delicious treats and crowning our Star Baker, the focus was on our long-standing charity partner, Single Homeless Project, and the work they do, which has a direct impact on the LGBTQIA+ community.

Around 24% of young people experiencing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBTQIA+, frequently due to family rejection or discrimination. works on the ground every day to provide inclusive support to these individuals when they need it most.

A big thank you to everyone who baked and donated, and to MAS Systems Ltd and E&N Group for their generous donations. Every penny raised goes directly towards helping SHP continue their work.

Having football legends like Harry Redknapp and John Barnes signing autographs and chatting tactics in our venue last week surely means the football gods are smiling on us for the Croatia game today ⚽

Last Thursday, on the official opening day of the World Cup, we hosted MBN’s Football’s Coming Home Lunch. The venue was buzzing – football royalty sharing stories on stage, retro kits on display, a live band, and some impressive freestyle tricks. It was the perfect warm-up to get everyone in the mood.

Last month, The Brewery was full of publishers, editors and media teams as PPA Festival returned to the venue to map out the future of editorial brands.

Hosting a multi-track agenda of this size requires serious space, and a tight operation behind the scenes. The schedule was packed from the start, through to the closing remarks and final drinks reception. It involved synchronising five stages – with the Big Picture Stage anchoring the day in the Porter Tun, while smaller stages ran across our other rooms, proving just how much can happen under one roof.

We always aim to serve food and drink that does good, and now we have the stars to prove it ⭐⭐

This World Environment Day feels like the perfect time to share that we’ve officially achieved a two-star rating (out of three) in The Sustainable Restaurant Association’s Food Made Good Standard. This is a rigorous, evidence-backed assessment, which means there’s no room for vague promises as every single part of the process must be verified.

For us, that practical action looks like powering our venue with renewable energy and using fully compostable lunchware for our conference menus. In the kitchen, the team works closely with Waste Knot to rescue seasonal surplus produce, while any of our own excess food goes straight to our staff canteen.

But sustainability isn't just about the environment. It’s about our people, too. This certification recognises our commitment to a workplace culture built on dignity, equality, and opportunity.

While we're incredibly proud of this milestone, it is just our starting point. We’re already working on the next steps to keep improving our impact on the planet and our community.

Celebrating the best of London’s construction industry takes much more than a single afternoon 🏗️

The Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards took place over four consecutive days at The Brewery. It’s a format we don’t see every day, but it makes perfect sense for an organisation rewarding hundreds of sites.

Trying to squeeze every award into one lunch would mean that achievements could easily get lost, while spreading the schedule across multiple afternoons means there’s even time for some comedy.

An app-solute takeover 📱

Business of Apps landed at The Brewery last month for a multi-stream, full-venue event, with Encore managing the AV across all spaces. It was great to see the newly renovated Smeaton Vaults in action for the breakout sessions, and The Retreat giving attendees the chance to step outside and enjoy the sunshine.

Roll on next April, when we get to do it all over again.
