Set equipment like plinths, lecterns, stage decks and exhibition booth items are the kinds of items that too often end up in a skip once an event wraps up.

But at Event Cycle, we repurpose these so that they can go to schools, community groups and charities who need them.

If your organisation could put any of these to use, get in touch and we'll talk you through how it works. It's free at every step: the items are free, delivery is free, and signing up only takes minutes.

πŸ“’ Could your organisation benefit from donated hygiene supplies?

At Event Cycle, we collect surplus toiletries from events and redistribute them to charities, community groups, social enterprises and schools.

From hand sanitiser and small soaps to shampoos and conditioners (all unused and in their original packaging), we make sure these leftover resources find a second home, not a skip.

Whether you provide support for people experiencing homelessness or refugees, run community wellbeing programmes or deliver vital local services, we'd love to connect you with donations.

We can't believe we're already halfway through 2026! The good news? There's still time to rethink what happens to your event materials, reduce what goes to landfill, and support communities long after the show ends.

Here's what our first half looked like in numbers:

πŸ“¦ 13,126 items donated to charities, community groups, schools and social enterprises
🀝 97 organisations supported across the UK and internationally
πŸ’š Β£237,694 in social impact value generated, helping third sector organisations redirect vital funds to frontline work
🌱 9,814 kgCO2e saved by keeping materials out of landfill
♻️ 28,962 kgCO2e saved by charities not needing to buy items new

Every one of these numbers started the same way: an event, a production or a temporary project that could have ended at the skip, and didn't.

So if you're planning an event in the second half of 2026 and want to build responsible material management in from day one, we'd love to talk: [email protected]

Today's World Refill Day is a global reminder that the choices we make about materials, whether we reuse, repurpose or discard, add up to something much bigger. ♻️

The movement is built on a simple but powerful idea: before something becomes waste, ask whether it can have a second life.

And that's a question we ask every day at Event Cycle.

While World Refill Day focuses on reusable single-use plastics and consumer packaging, the principle is one the events industry knows well. Events generate enormous volumes of surplus materials: signage, furniture, props, branded goods, set builds. And too often, perfectly usable items end up in the skip simply because the show is over.

But when you plan with purpose from day one, surplus resources become community assets. Leftover items find new homes with charities, schools and social enterprises, and your event leaves a lasting social legacy.

This , if you're planning a show in 2026 or beyond, let's start that conversation early: [email protected]

This year's World Environment Day theme is climate action, and the question isn't whether change is coming, it's whether we're ready to help guide it.

At Event Cycle, we think about this every day. The events industry is a high-resource, high-volume world. But it's also full of people who care, and who have a real opportunity to do things differently.

For us, climate action looks like a set of chairs that don't go to landfill. A banner that becomes a community resource. Surplus materials that find a second life in the hands of a charity, a school or a local organisation that needs it.

Since we started, we've helped save 246 tonnes of CO2e from items that didn't go to landfill and a further 1,085 tonnes from items that charities didn't need to buy new. That's the power of keeping resources in circulation.

Every event is a chance to take action. And action, however small, adds up.
