I’m super excited and very happy to have joined the Mulberry House family! 🎉

In case you don’t know, Mulberry House isn’t just a multi award winning venue, it also a venue where dreams are brought to life by a fun yet hard working team, where some of the best wedding suppliers in the vicinity connect with couples planning their big day and where I, Dave Octave Celebrant, have joined their ranks!

It’s been a goal of mine to become affiliated with Mulberry House and now it’s happened I’m even more excited than I thought I’d be.

I’m super chuffed to scope the Wedding Celebrant of the Year prize at the Essex Wedding Awards. And what makes it even more special is that I’m lucky enough to take it home for the second year in a row! 💕

And what a night it was! Lots of great wedding suppliers supporting each other and sharing the love.

I often meet couples who don’t think they want to write vows, and that is mostly because their ideas of how vows should be are rooted in traditional vows that don’t represent who they are!

Well, I’m here to burst that myth! 💥

I always make it my mission to challenge those couples to write vows from their heart and with their humour, and when they make it happen, it is hands down a standout moment of any ceremony! 🏆

So let’s ditch the boring script and write vows that are fun, personal, full of you and unforgettable!

Had the honour of officiating the send-off of a wonderful much-loved man this afternoon and as I sat in my car I was overwhelmed by depth of how special what we (as Celebrants) do for those mourning a loss.

I never wanted to be a funeral Celebrant, I guess it kinda chose me and I’m glad I laid my fears to the side and answered the call.

Saying goodbye is always going to be difficult and that where a good Celebrant and a ceremony that celebrates your loved one can make a world of difference!

✨ SAYING FAREWELL NEW ORLEANS STYLE ✨

I don’t usually post much about my funeral work and definitely don’t usually take photos and videos, but today’s funeral definitely one to remember!

Our departed Stella loved music and travel, and New Orleans was one place she always dreamed of visiting but never made it.

So when she shared her funeral wishes with her family, she made it well known that she wanted a New Orleans send-off, with music, love and upbeat celebration!

Roll on the Jazz trio who played her in for her final parade in front of her loved ones and then played everyone from a love, fun (and occasionally tearful) ceremony!

It is always an honour to write and officiate a funeral service but it a privilege to be able to bring someone’s parting wish to fruition as part of their lasting memory!
