Excited to have ._ joining the Baked Biscuit crew this Friday at the and on the guest mix for this month! 🚀

Missy T is an East London DJ whose sound is rooted in the UK rave and underground scenes. She loves anything inspired by her city such as Jungle, Garage, UK Funky, Grime and Dubstep. Expect hard-hitting selections with intense beats and bass, hypnotic melodies, and a blend of old-school and new-school tunes. Grimey vocals complete her sound for a danceable, skankable experience.

We’re delighted to announce that all profits from our next event will be donated to ’s Befriending Programme. This is a fantastic service which makes a real life difference to some of Hackney’s most isolated residents.

Isolation isn’t just lonely — it affects physical health, mental wellbeing, and a person’s ability to access basic necessities and vital services. Befriending works because it combines human connection with practical support. Trained volunteer befrienders are matched with people to provide companionship and support through weekly visits or telephone calls. Some of these people have not left their homes for months, others go out only to get food, all are feeling isolated in some way. Befrienders provide much needed social connection, conversation and a listening ear. Through the programme, people:

• Find the confidence to leave their homes and re-engage with their community
• Become more physically active
• Feel happier, more confident, and less alone
• Experience improved mental and emotional wellbeing
• Get the right support — from fixing a broken boiler to accessing healthcare or benefits

Funds raised from this event will contribute to recruiting, training and supporting befrienders and their befriendees.

Your contribution today will help someone in your community feel less alone tomorrow 😊

We are delighted to announce that we will be supporting at our next event at on Friday, August 1st 🙌🏼

A portion of the proceeds from our ticket sales will go towards helping HMC continue offering support services and advice to vulnerable migrants.

At Hackney Migrant Centre, we provide essential support to refugees, asylum seekers, and other migrants in need, offering free, expert advice on immigration and welfare. Our services extend beyond advice—we create a welcoming and community space where individuals can access a warm meals, connect with others, and feel part of a supportive community.

“Hackney Migrant Centre (HMC) delivers advice and support service for vulnerable migrants on immigration, housing, and welfare. We support visitors to our service to resolve their immigration problems and move out of homelessness and destitution in the long-term, as well as assisting them to address immediate issues.

Most of our visitors lack secure immigration status and are destitute as a result of that and the Hostile Environment. Our services extend beyond advice—we create a welcoming and safe space where individuals can access warm meals, connect with others, and feel part of a supportive community.

We welcome all migrants, regardless of immigration status, nationality or background.”

We are delighted to be supporting Hackney Night Shelter on the 27th June at The Jago, Dalston 💙

All profits from our next event will be donated to HNS to help provide hearty breakfasts, nourishing evening meals for all guests, a comfy bed for those staying at the shelter, essential kitchen and bedroom equipment to help someone set up a new home, and the support of a night worker to keep the shelter safe overnight.

“Hackney Night Shelter provides emergency shelter for people facing homelessness, along with structured support to help them move back into settled accommodation.

HNS has been running its main shelter—a twenty-bed mixed shelter in a former neighbourhood office, where offices were converted into bedrooms—for two years. It also operates a women’s shelter in a large house rented from a local church. Both shelters are primarily run by a dedicated team of local volunteers, supported by core day staff and overnight workers. HNS works closely with referral partners, including local agencies and outreach services, to accommodate 26 guests every night of the year—individuals who would otherwise be sleeping on the street.

- From 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024, Hackney Night Shelter provided emergency accommodation for 218 people experiencing homelessness.
- The organisation supported 85 women and 133 men, aged between 18 and 75, with an average age of 34.
- One third of the guests were from Hackney, with the remainder coming from boroughs across London.
- 90% of guests moved on positively into their own longer-term accommodation.
(April 2025)

While many shelters operate seasonally—leaving a gap in provision for much of the year—Hackney Night Shelter is one of the few services of its kind in the area offering year-round emergency accommodation.”
