Progress
The society we live in today is formed from the perpetual march of progress. For example the Greenwich Observatory was founded today in 1675 by Charles II (yes I will make an outfit from that period, just need money and time, think huge hair). Progress is universal not just in science and technology, but also society, as today in 1772 it was found that Slavery was unsupported by English Common Law. A step in legislation which matches the turning attitude towards Slavery in the . Many things have improved, but still a way to go.

Masks available at the Jane Austen Centre from the Period Costume Shop for the grand Masquerade Ball! There are lace masks, masks on a stick, traditional charm masks and of course Plague Madks! Sadly both fancy dress shops in Bath have now closed.
