Not every ceremony this summer has been a happy occasion.
Some have been about saying goodbye.
After Carole's funeral service, her Brother-in-law, Richard, contacted me by email. Nearing his 80th birthday, he told me he's 'lost count' of the number of funerals he's attended within that time.
I don't mind admitting that brought a lump to my throat.
'the celebration of Carole's life this morning was by far the finest I have ever had the opportunity to experience.'
That's what a good funeral can be. Sad, but also full of love, memories, laughter, and good stories.
Thank you, Richard, for letting me share your beautiful words β€οΈ
