Our order book is currently closed…

Since 2019, Sarah Louise Designs’ sister company ‘Over the Moon at Sarah Louise Designs’ has grown substantially. Creating personalised, hand-crafted greeting cards, ‘Over the Moon’ has long been established over at my Etsy https://etsy.me/2Qnn2QD store and I am currently building my own store at my website. Due to the expansion of this business, I am not taking any wedding stationery orders at present. Existing bookings are of course continuing as brides and grooms wait to have their big day at a time when the Governments allow. My grandma and grandad on their wedding day... I love this picture as I never knew my grandad. He died quite young from TB. I love to hear about him from my Dad and Uncle. We are keen on genealogy and this is one of many vintage photos we have of our ancestors. While the world is in crisis I would like to encourage my affected 2020 clients to look ahead to their new wedding dates with the same excitement they experienced when they originally planned them. We will get through this. This time will be a memory one day, stay safe and stay strong.

As it’s mother’s day today I thought I’d share a beautiful image of my dad’s mother (aged 22) as a bridesmaid for her cousin in 1936. She was a very pretty lady anyway but doesn’t she look gorgeous in her hat and bridesmaid dress? At this time no-one had an idea that the country would be at war so soon. Hard times were ahead but they were overcome. My grandma married shortly after this and had her babies during the war. My dad in 1940 and his brother in 1943. Living in Liverpool they were at risk from from bombing and had to live with a family in Southport to escape the worst of it, while my grandad stayed behind to run his business. They all stayed safe and life for them went back to how it had been before. Just a reminder as right now it’s hard to imagine, but it will happen...

Sadly we are hearing some weddings have had to be rearranged and postponed. While this is sad news for the bride and groom to be, it is understandable at this time. We are flexible and can help alter existing invitation orders or reprint where necessary without breaking the bank. Do get in touch if you have any queries.

Work continues as usual here at Sarah Louise Designs. We are being sensible and not holding any client consultations at this time but rest assured, deliveries will be carrying on as normal. Any consultations can be done by phone during the current virus crisis. Thanks for your understanding.

One of the most unusual table plans I’ve worked on. This one consisted of tags tied to a bicycle wheel. I must admit that it looked very effective when it was done.
