Hi, we're Kathy and David. đź‘‹

If you're new here, welcome.

Nearly five years ago, we bought a home with 25 acres of meadow and ancient woodland in South West Wales.

We had no plan to run retreats or community gatherings.

We simply fell in love with the house and the land.

Then something unexpected happened.

The moment the land became ours, it felt like it had a purpose.

One simple thought kept coming back:

"Wouldn't it be lovely if we could all come together in a field and hug?"

So that's exactly what we did.

We invited people to join us.

None of us imagined what would happen next.

Over the last five years we've watched strangers become friends, friendships turn into chosen family, children make memories they'll never forget, and people arrive feeling alone but leave knowing they belong.

Together, we've learnt how to care for this beautiful land, improve it year after year, and create a place where people can simply be themselves.

Today, Community Camping & Healing Gatherings is home to community weekends, healing retreats, family events and workshops, all centred around one simple idea:

Life is better when we come together.

Whether you've been with us from the beginning or you've only just found our page, we're so glad you're here.

Tell us in the comments...

đź’š Where are you from?

đź’š Have you visited us before, or are you hoping to come to your first gathering?

We'd love to get to know you.

The hardest part of being a single parent isn't the parenting. ❤️

It's feeling like you're carrying everything alone.

The childcare.

The finances.

The school runs.

The endless decisions.

The mental load.

Trying to be strong for everyone else whilst quietly wishing somebody had your back for a change.

This isn't a gathering specifically for single parents.

Families, couples, friends and people attending alone all come along.

But over nearly five years of running our Community Camping and Healing Gatherings, one thing we've noticed time and time again is the difference it seems to make for many single mums and dads.

Many arrive feeling exhausted.

Many arrive feeling isolated.

Many arrive feeling like they're carrying the weight of everything on their own.

Then something beautiful happens.

The children make friends.

The parents make friends.

Phone numbers are exchanged.

People sit around the campfire chatting long after the children have gone off to play.

Support networks form.

Friendships grow.

People find others who genuinely understand what they're going through.

And often those friendships continue long after the weekend has finished.

For many single parents, it's not just a weekend away.

It's a reminder that they're not doing life alone.

When David and I created Community Gatherings, this was exactly what we hoped for.

Not just a camping weekend.

A community.

A place where children can make friends, build dens, climb trees, explore woodland, enjoy crafting activities and spend time outdoors.

A place where parents can relax, join workshops, enjoy a sound bath, sit around the campfire and connect with genuinely lovely people.

We also wanted to make it as accessible as possible because we know how quickly costs add up for families.

Different ages.
Different stories.
Different reasons for being here.
Different species.
(Yes, dogs are part of the family here.)

This is what our Community Camping and Healing Gatherings look like.
Real people. Real families. Real connection.
Held on our land in South West Wales.

Our next gathering is April Community Camping and Healing Weekend Gathering 24th–26th April.
A full weekend of camping, connection, activities, rest and being together.

You don’t have to fit in.
You don’t have to arrive confident.
You just have to arrive.

If you’ve been thinking “I really want to join you”
let’s make it happen in 2026.

Message me if you want to talk it through
or book your place if you already know.

If you’ve been thinking “I really want to join you” then let’s make it happen in 2026.

Our next April Community Camping and Healing Weekend Gathering is 24th to 26th April here on our land in South West Wales.

It’s a full weekend.
Camping.
Activities.
Connection.
Space to rest.
And a place where your children are safe and happy so you can actually breathe.

Children 16 and under are free.
Campervans are welcome at no extra cost.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at no extra cost.

We also offer payment plans, because we know these things can feel like a lot all in one go.

You don’t need to come with anyone.
You don’t need to be confident.
You don’t need to know what you’re doing.
Most people who book feel nervous and relieved at the same time..
Places are limited because what we offer only works when it stays small and supported.
And April is already starting to fill.

If you want to come, this is the moment to stop circling it and take yourself seriously.
Message me if you want to talk it through.
If you already know, book your place now.

People often ask what actually happens over a Community Camping and Healing Gathering.

And the honest answer is, nothing is forced and nothing is rushed.

You arrive.
You get met.
You set up your tent.
You take a breath.

Over the weekend there are things you can join in with if you want to.
Circles.
Activities.
Time together.
Time apart.
Space to talk.
Space to be quiet.

Children do what children do best.
They play.
They explore.
They make friends quickly and forget about their screens.

Adults slowly start to soften.
They sit.
They talk.
They laugh.
Sometimes they cry.
Sometimes they say very little at all.

No one is watching you.
No one is keeping track of what you’ve joined in with.
No one minds if you disappear for a bit.

There’s no pressure to share.
No expectation to open up.
No requirement to be anything other than yourself.

Most people leave saying the same thing.
“I didn’t realise how much I needed that.”

That’s really all that happens.
People arrive tired and guarded.
And they leave feeling a bit more themselves.
If you’ve been wondering what it would actually be like, give this post a like.
Just a quiet way of saying “that helps”.

I want to gently reassure anyone looking at the 8am start time and doing the mental maths.

You don’t arrive to rush.
You arrive to warmth.

You arrive to a fire already going.
A hot drink in your hands.
Time to settle, sit, and ease into the morning.

We are not marching anywhere.
There is no pressure to perform.
No one is expecting you to be wide awake and sparkling.

You come as you are.
Wrapped up. A little sleepy. Exactly right.

And from there, the day unfolds slowly and naturally.
Sunrise. Drumming. Cacao. Circles. Food. Rest. Sound.

By 3pm, you are heading home having done something deeply nourishing
And the rest of your day is still yours.

Sometimes getting up early is not about effort.
It’s about intention.

And this is one of those days.
