Have your pets inspired you on your business journey?

Meet Patches, Patch, Patchy, Patchington or Professor Patch, depending on the day (and his mood) 😼.

Patches has been the biggest inspiration in our lives and our business, and continues to keep us company through our long desk days no matter what. After all, he is the BOSS 🫡.

The first and most obvious inspiration is our business name.

Patch = cat name
Patch'ng (pronounced Puh'ching) = the sound of a magical spell cast with a wand, which reflects our performers' technology 📱🪄.

It also represents achievement through the sound of clinking glassses and celebration 🍻🥂.

Our logo?
Inspired by the light and dark sides of Patches' face.
Sharp shape to represent our sharp approach.
The shape of a shard to represent pin pointing and precision.
The dark half face (hidden) represents the secret, mysterious, magical side of our work.

Patches has never failed to provide us with love and joy, including cuddles (and frequent biting 😹) , endless purring and getting in the way at the desk. Constantly eating goes without saying.

Meet Steve and Linda Bassett (in blue), the founders of REST- Repatriation Services Trust 🙌🏻, our chosen charity for 2026/27.

Last weekend, they travelled up from South Wales to climb Yr Wyddfa, in memory of their son, Tom 🌹🌹🌹.

On Sunday 26th, we travelled from Llandudno to Beaumaris to meet these amazing people for coffee at Jolly’s Café (very nice place! 😋), to spend time with them and talk about the amazing work they do.

Did you know that since registering REST in 2018, they have helped 36 families bring their loved ones back to the UK after they suffered an unexpected tragic loss whilst abroad?

That is what REST do – provide “Support to bring your loved ones home”.

When someone passes away far from home, a family’s deepest grief is instantly tangled in foreign laws, distance, and unbearable costs. REST steps into that heart-wrenching space to clear the path home—giving families the peace, dignity, and closure they desperately need when their world has turned upside down.

Why support them? 🤔 Well… we know this experience and tell you that we don’t know what our family would have done without them during the most difficult time.

💭 ❔How does this align with our values as a business ? We care. We care about people and circumstances. We are real people with real life experiences and believe that doing good in the world is important 💯, especially when it comes to what is hugely important in people’s lives – no matter what 👍🏻.

After meeting them, we learned that the work they do is quite spectacular 🎆💖, and their goals don’t stop here – they have set some amazing and challenging goals to achieve over the coming months, which we can’t wait to hear about 🎯. We wish them the best of luck 😊.

ℹ️ Vibe coding is great… until security lets you down.

⚠️ Don’t put your business at risk.

A lot of people and businesses save money by designing and building their own web or mobile systems using AI vibe‑coding tools. You spend time making it look perfect — on‑brand pages, clean layouts, great images, and a simple contact form. It looks fantastic, and you’ve saved 💰💰💰.

But here’s the part most people don’t think about.

• Where does someone’s information actually go once they submit your form?

This is true! But who checks the AI? If you have written your own website, make sure it is secure especially if you collect data. AI is great, but can be catastrophic to your business if not used correctly. Get your code reviewed by a professional to keep your business safe. AI can be very wrong too!
