STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at my home. Cariad Wedding Services is an unique business designing & making tiaras, combs, headpieces for Brides , bridesmaids and also Fascinstor's, hatinators and hats for all occasions- Weddings, Races, Ladies day, Ascot etc. Each handmade creation is bespoke and unique. Whether it is something small or big and bold, I aim to 'wow' every Customer be it a bride, mother of the bride or groom or wedding guest. I have an eye for detailing and this can be seen in my work. I work with you and get a feel for what you like and don't like and offer advice with what I think will suit and work well with the outfit. Prices start from £40 up to £150+ for both bridal and millinery. It all depends on the style and what's included. Enquiries are welcome and if you have a set budget I can let you know what in that price category. I also offer an alteration service where I can revamp a Fascinator, hatinator, hat or tiaras/combs. I hold my consultations at my home from Monday to Thursday (6.30 pm) by appointment only. Please message or call before hand to arrange. Tel no. 07971537610. A little something blue for the Mother of the Bride!

My ever-popular tear-shaped design is still a firm favourite, and this bespoke creation was made for a lovely Mother of the Bride who travelled all the way from Bridgend to visit me.

Dyed to match her beautiful royal blue dress (you can even spot the fabric sample tucked into the hat!), every detail was carefully considered.

The V of the tear-shaped base echoes the V neckline of her dress, while the soft, flowing crinoline adds movement and reflects the floaty finish of her skirt.

Delicate beads and diamantes were added to complement the sparkling embellishments running through her dress, bringing the whole look together beautifully.

It’s these little details that make bespoke millinery so special. A headpiece designed not just to match your outfit, but to complement its shape, style and detailing.

It’s the little details that make all the difference.

When you see a finished headpiece, you don’t necessarily see all the little things that have gone into creating it.

From hand-colouring wires so they disappear into the design, to hand-sewing every detail, dyeing materials to achieve just the right shade and checking colours in different lighting.

It’s also about keeping you involved along the way, making sure you’re happy with how your piece is developing, and showing you how to wear and secure it correctly when it’s finished.

These are all things I do as part of my bespoke service. Some you might notice, others you probably wouldn’t, but to me, they’re just as important as the finished piece itself.

Because bespoke millinery isn’t just about making a hat to match your outfit. It’s about all the thought, care and attention that goes into making something especially for you.

Nicola wanted it big… and she absolutely owned it!

She knew she wanted a navy base, rather than bringing in more of the lighter shade from her dress — so it was all about getting that balance just right.

I brought plenty of the soft light grey including off cuts through the trimming, tying the hat back into her dress and creating that lovely elongated shape. The navy feathers then really popped against the grey, while keeping everything beautifully coordinated.

And doesn’t she look absolutely stunning alongside the bride!

She was absolutely thrilled with her finished hat and received so many compliments on the day, which made her feel amazing.

That’s exactly what I want a bespoke piece to do — not just match your outfit, but make you feel fabulous wearing it.

Made to match down to the smallest details.

This lovely Mother of the Bride travelled up from Swansea after finding my work, bringing with her a beautiful pale grey dress with a very dark navy design.

She loved my popular tear shape and wanted something with plenty of impact. We chose a dark navy base, then worked lots of the pale grey through the design to break up the navy and reflect the pattern of her dress.

I was also given offcuts from the dress itself, which I incorporated as fine loops within the design. Plain dark navy loops were added alongside them, with tiny diamantes added to pick up the sparkle from her navy diamante shoes.

Finished with navy feather flowers, every element was chosen to bring the whole outfit together rather than simply matching the colours.

This is exactly what I love about bespoke — taking little details from the dress, shoes and accessories and bringing them all together to create something completely individual.

Small, but still with a statement…

This Mother of the Groom was travelling to Italy for the wedding, so she wanted something smaller and easy to travel with, while still feeling special enough for such an important occasion.

Her beautiful dress had so many colours running through it, rather than one definite shade to match. We chose this warm, tomato red for the main colour of the headpiece — more of an orange-toned red than a cherry red — as it worked beautifully with the overall tones of the dress.

When she tried this pillbox and freeform sinamay style, she loved it. Secured with elastic rather than a headband, it was also a great choice for travelling without taking up too much room.

I added the soft loops to echo the movement of the draped cowl neckline, then suggested picking out some of the other colours from the print with individual feathers — touches of pink, mustard, green, black and softer neutral tones.

She wasn’t quite sure how all those different colours would work together at first, but I promised her they would be subtle — and once she saw the finished piece, she loved it.

A bespoke design doesn’t always have to match just one colour. Sometimes it’s about bringing together all those little details from the outfit so everything works as one.

A statement hat, but without competing with the dress.

This Mother of the Bride knew she loved a larger hat and was drawn to this particular style.

With so much beautiful detail already in her navy and silver dress, we decided to keep the hat predominantly navy, adding bows and fine loops to complement the detailing in the fabric.

Just a touch of silver was needed, so I added delicate silver quills and feathers to pick up the silver in the dress without overpowering it.

Sometimes it’s about knowing when to add more — and when to let the outfit do the talking.

Why choose bespoke millinery?

For me, it starts with you and your outfit. You might love a big statement hat, prefer something smaller, or want a more modern style. We’ll find a shape and size that suits you, then work out which side balances your outfit and the details you’d like to include. If you don’t like feathers or veiling, you don’t have to have them.

Colour matching is what many people know me for. I can dye materials to pick up the shades in your outfit, so the finished piece feels like it belongs with it.

Your hat will be made especially for you, and bespoke isn’t always more expensive than buying from a shop.

From a TikTok enquiry to a bespoke creation for a Mother of the bride in Northampton.

With her dress being made especially for her, she sent me flowers and spare jacquard fabric to incorporate into her hat. As soon as I saw the dress, I had ideas for bringing the whole look together.

Her initial wish was for something large. With the fullness of the skirt, I suggested keeping the hat light and airy, so it would complement the dress without overpowering it.

We still created plenty of height and presence, using soft crinoline to give that sense of size without the weight of a more solid shape. Combined with the fabric and flowers from her dress, everything tied together beautifully.

That’s what I love about bespoke: considering the colour, texture, shape and proportions of the whole outfit to create something just for you.

By February 2026, many of my busiest months for that year were already fully booked. Lots of 2027 dates are reserved already, so I think those busy months could fill even sooner this time. If you have your wedding date, please get in touch early.

You don’t need to have your outfit yet. The £50 non-refundable deposit saves your date and reserves my time to make something bespoke for you. We can talk about the design once you’ve found what you’re wearing.
