This is still the case folks. We are unfortunately still been having to turn away bookings. Bouncy castles/inflatable hires are non essential - any company proceeding to hire is breaking all regulations and likely their insurance won’t cover.
Please don’t take the risk. As soon as we are allowed to we will be back.
Just because there maybe people prepared to hire, does not mean it is allowed or safe.

So this should have been Mid Calder Gala this coming Saturday but because of all this crazy in the world, it can’t go ahead.
As many of you know, we are a bit of a fixture in the Black Bull on the Saturday with our rodeo bull.
For the first time in years, that won’t be the case this year unfortunately. So dig deep folks, and help out the guys at The Black Bull. Let’s make sure we can all laugh about this next year over a pint, and I can laugh throwing you off the rodeo!

Our aim is to preserve the Bull in Mid Calder and make sure it continues being part of village life during and after Covid-19

Hi folks, just for avoidance of doubt - there will be NO inflatables being hired out during this pandemic. The government have been more than clear about how serious this. As soon as we receive other information saying it’s safe to do so, we will update on here.

Please stay safe everyone, and be sensible!

NB. If anyone is aware of companies hiring g out inflatables- please report them as they are messing with people’s chances of survival- literally!

Our thoughts are with the family of the little girl involved it the terrible tragedy on Sunday.

Below is a statement made by the Bouncy Castle and Inflatable Hirers Association regarding the press coverage of this incident and the scaremongering amongst the general public.

Our equipment is checked before and after every hire, is insured and a risk assessment is in place for all set ups. We also have ongoing risk assessments in place when we are asked to provide supervision at events.
We do NOT use sealed air inflatables - only commercial grade inflatables with constant air flow.

With all this in mind, we would like to reassure customers that we do our utmost to ensure your safety and have done for the last 20 years.

Statement from BIHA:

"In the aftermath of the very sad incident in Gorlston, Norfolk on Sunday 1st July 2018. It has now been proven that the item in question was NOT a Bouncy Castle that exploded in this tragic event, but a sealed air trampoline (similar to a giant lilo).
It is absolutely impossible for a bouncy castle to explode because air is constantly escaping from the seams as air gets pumped in".
In the interest of the thousands of bouncy castle hire companies in the UK and Ireland who hire items under strict safety practices, it's vitally important that the Media correctly reflect the product relating to this tragic event which was a 'Air Sealed Trampoline', not a bouncy castle".

Hi everyone ! Got a big ask here, our daughter is competing as one of a team of 6 girls from a Inveralmond Community High School in a Formula 1 in Schools competition.
They’ve made it though the regionals, and the nationals at Silverstone. They are now due to compete at the world finals in Singapore this September!
I need you all to help us get them there.
