🩵 December 1998: BeBe Winans performed “Thank You (MaW Mix)” with a reportedly 300-member Bahamian gospel choir on the steps of the five-storey Mayan Temple at the opening of the hotel resort Atlantis’ Royal Towers in Paradise Island, Nassau.

The event - Celebration of Atlantis Rising - was Sun International’s spectacular launch party for its new $480 million resort expansion.

The celebrity lineup was completely insane: Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, BeBe Winans, Byron Cage, Grace Jones, Jimmy Buffett, KC & the Sunshine Band and James Ingram, among others, all involved 🤯 and Oprah Winfrey.

Always lights a fire inside 🔥

3. Daft Punk - Around The World

Legendary.

4. Michael Jackson - Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ (Sgt Slick’s Garage Dub)

Singalong, but make it epic as f**k. Basically the Sgt Slick ethos 😂 and it works!

Nearly the end of the night, digging thru the USB for some wildcards. This groove gets people MOVING moving!⚡️

6. Camilo Salazar - Salsa Del 78

Proper mover this 🙌✨

Every track her vocals are on, absolutely shells it.

Gaz909 with the quick hands to make an awesome groove 😮‍💨

Under Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, Studio 54 became a symbol of New York nightlife at its most outrageous.

Rubell famously operated the door on the principle that you had to be interesting. Inside, the rules completely disappeared.

For a brief, unforgettable moment, Studio 54 became the ultimate expression of 1970s New York: glamorous, hedonistic, exclusive and completely unhinged.

In 1992, Ibiza was rapidly evolving from an alternative Mediterranean escape into the global epicentre of electronic music drawing DJs, clubbers and artists from across Europe and beyond.

Amnesia was at the heart of that change, with the all-night, open-air, anything-goes club culture that would become synonymous with the island.
