"I believe Arne Slot should be given leeway for winning the Premier League. It’s not easy, and it’s been a long time. I know they won it under Jurgen Klopp, but it's so difficult. For him to win it last year, I think he's earned some slack. If he were to finish outside the Champions League spots, I'm not sure he would survive that.
"In fact, I'm not sure he survives it anyway because I think the fans are very disgruntled. I've never heard the fans voice so much dissent about their manager in recent years, or possibly ever. They're not accepting him.
"He hasn't got that connection that Jurgen had. Jurgen was very charismatic, an unbelievable character. He immersed himself in the club and the city and did it brilliantly, but he also got results. Even when he wasn't getting results in the early years, they could see progress and an identity.
"I'm not sure we see an identity now. Sometimes when I watch Liverpool, I think I'm quite bored. If it's not exciting me, the people who pay their money every week are probably of a similar opinion.
"It's a big contrast between the 'rock and roll' football that Jurgen had and the more pragmatic, slow build-up, controlled football that Arne Slot prefers. I'm not sure that suits Liverpool, but if it were up to me, I think he has earned the right to have another year."
