I would like to share some news, whats happening behind the scenes. I have joined Venturewood as my full time job as a Deputy Manager for Outdoor Education at Delamere Forest. This is a great opportunity for me to expand my forest school experience and deliver exciting programme for Venturewood. As you can imagine me and staff at VintagePlayroom love the connections we built with children and families over the years. We will still deliver some forest school sessions over summer holidays but with limited funding it is hard to run some half terms.
Venturewood also runs Easter half term and school educational visits so please check their website.

Winter HAF day 4. Today we went on a heritage walk along Liverpool waterfront. I shared many interesting facts about cargo ships coming to Albert dock, warehouses, history of the waterways and life on boats. Children learnt about living on a boat and even exlopred one boat venue. With the sea themed day we enjoyed fish and chips. We embraced the wind today, well done everyone!

Wintet HAF day 3. Today we went to explore Princes Park. They have a list of trees planted there, and children were excited to find them. We picked some acorns, conkers, leaves and bark. Played with shadows, excercised with tennis and an outdoor gym and swings. For lunch we had tune pasta with sweetcorn, and quorn. Toasted cheese tortillas on the fire and hot chocolate.
Happy last day of the year. Thank you for sharing the outdoors with us. Keep warm, keep well and be happy.

Winter HAF day 2! A wonderful day in the Weatherstone Wood on the Wirral. Alice was a great host, cooking our hand made pizza wraps on the fire, toasted potatoes, and an amazing hot chocolate from one of the parents. Pizza fillers had options for veg and hallal, with tuna, sweetcorn, mushrooms, lentils, sun dried tomatoes, cheese, pepperoni, and chicken breasts.
Children had a very active outdoor setting with climbing structures, swings, hammocks. We also made nature crafts dream catchers.
Lots of fresh air loved by everyone.

Winter HAF day 1. We gathered at the Cathedral gardens for some fire pit cooking, taco mixed beans and pasta, cheese bread and falafel toasted. To care for our birds in winter we made bird feeders with peanut butter and seeds. Lots of excercises and hammocks to keep us warm.

Winter half term for Outdoor Explorers.
Children will engage in a lot of outdoor activities, forest school and exploring local areas. There will be a heritage walk along the waterfront and Princess Park. On Tuesday 30th there will be a trip to Weatherstone Woods on the Wirral for some fire pit cooking, swinging on giant tree swings, hammocks and climbing structures. Some woodwork projects for those who love to make bird houses and nature crafts.

Children will also explore Liverpool's waterfront, boats and marinas.

We will go for nature walks that will inspire them for arts and crafts activities, bushcraft and woodwork.

A free healthy lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided.

Your child must be eligible for benefit related free school meals to book a free space.
We have 20 HAF free (eligible) places and 5 paid for places available each day at £25 per day.

We won't be based at one venue, instead we have activities booked. The pick up and drop off point is Toxteth Library.
Please make sure children have appropriate clothing for outdoors.

Today at The Community Awareness Day organised by . Vintage Playroom delivered seasonal craft activities for the community. Pumpkins filled with cinnamon and cloves were popular. A good day to network.

Thank you for the opportunity to deliver this Summer HAF 2025 programme.
Thank you to the funders ,
staff members for their enthusiasmand dedication .mateus.351 , Tommy, Tomm , Morfa , , , to parents who engaged and volunteered at camping and trips, Alice for sharing her lovely woodland adventure with us.
I have seen our kids grow, embraced challenges, laughter, tears, disagreements, jumps and falls, long walks, watersports activities, forest school and night walks in the dark, and everything what makes a good outdoor explorer. You were coreagous and curious, and silly at times but we all had a good time and made great memories.
