At our wedding three years ago, it was just before . At that point, I was a Community Ambassador for the charity, and it was my 10th year as a Mo Bro. For our wedding favours, my wife and I gave each of our guests a snazzy Movember moustache pin, in the hope that they would wear them and encourage others to engage in frank and honest discussions about men's health issues.
I have lots of experience talking about mental health through my work with Movember, and it meant so much to me to see my friends and family wearing their pins, not just on our wedding day, but in the weeks and months afterwards.
I'm not actively involved with Movember this year, but I'd encourage everyone to sponsor a Mo Bro and give a hug to a moustachioed fella this Movember. And more importantly, look out for each other, check in with your friends and family, and let everyone know that you're around to lend an ear if anyone needs a chat. You can't imagine how much that might mean to someone.
I'd love to hear how others have been able to find little ways in their weddings to champion and support causes they care about. Let me know!
And if you're thinking of getting married and would like to use your special day as a way to platform and promote a cause you care about, get in touch and we can have a chat about ways you can use your ceremony to do that!
