ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: are one of the most promising new bands coming out of Liverpool right now. Formed at the start of 2025, they’ve already built a strong reputation through solid songwriting, a tight live sound and a proper work ethic. Their debut show at sold out straight away, and since then they’ve been on the rise!

The band is made up of Oscar on vocals, Joe on rhythm guitar, Matthew on lead, Bree on bass and Max on drums. Each member brings something different to the table which gives their music its edge. Their style sits somewhere between indie rock and punk, with enough personality in it to stand out from the crowd.

Their latest release WAKE UP does a good job of showing who they are as a band. It was recorded in a weekend at White Noise Studio .noise.southport and the whole project has that raw, straight to the point feel that matches perfectly with their live presence.

What makes interesting is how naturally everything seems to come together for them. No overthinking, no trying to be anything they’re not, just a group of musicians who know what they want to sound like and get on with it. It’s clear why people are starting to pay attention.

The Lags – “Ready to Go”

Tell you what — have absolutely smashed it with this one.

“Ready to Go” is a straight-up rocket: full throttle from the first second, no let-up, no messing about. It’s the kind of track that makes you neck your pint, grab your mates, and leg it straight to the front.

Guitars? Razor-sharp. Drums? Tight as anything. And there’s this relentless urgency pulsing through the whole thing that just works. Vocals come with that raw, unpolished edge — no gloss, no filler, just pure intent. You believe every word.

It’s got that real live-wire energy too — you can feel the crowd bouncing before the first chorus even lands.
Proper hooky, properly gritty — classic Lags.

We’ve seen them live a few times now, and if this tune’s anything to go by, their next set is gonna absolutely erupt.

We’re heartbroken by the closure of The Leadmill — a cornerstone of Sheffield’s music culture, gone.

Another legendary venue shutting down. The Leadmill may be closing, but its spirit lives on in every artist it helped, every memory it created.

Now more than ever, UK grassroots music needs our support.

Buy a ticket. Go to the gig. Back your local promoters and indie venues — because if we don’t, there’ll be none of us left.
