Sometimes it’s the things you weren’t expecting that end up taking your breath away.

When we first start talking wedding flowers, most couples naturally think about the bouquet. But flowers have a way of quietly weaving through an entire day.

The ceremony backdrop.
The welcome sign.
The cake table.
The hanging installations.
The candlelit tables.
The little details that make a room feel warm, romantic and completely yours.

One of our lovely brides sent us this message:

“I clocked the hanging ladder when walking from the farmhouse to the mowhay for our ceremony and I could’ve cried seeing it. It looked incredible.”

Those moments mean everything. Seeing a vision come to life. Watching a couple experience their wedding space for the first time. Knowing the flowers became part of memories they’ll carry long after the day is over.

Not my usual kind of post but something I’d like to share with you all.

On Wednesday we said goodbye to my wonderful Mum. 💕

Many of you won’t have known her, but she was such a huge part of who I am.

Mum was the first female Level Crossing Keeper working for British Rail before going on to become an incredible maths teacher for more than 30 years. She was intelligent, fiercely independent, wonderfully quirky, and had a sense of humour that never left her.

She adored her family, loved her garden, and somehow managed to build a collection of more than 60 pairs of Dr Martens, which she wore faithfully every single day!

We lost her to dementia, a long and cruel disease that slowly takes so much from the people we love.

Right now, we’re taking things one day at a time and doing our very best as a family whilst continuing to care for our wonderful couples. If I’m a little slower than usual over the coming days and weeks, I hope you’ll understand.

Thank you for all the kindness, patience and support that so many of you have already shown. This little corner of the internet feels like the right place to say thank you for being here, and to honour a woman who meant the world to us.

One thing we always encourage couples to think about is how their flowers can work throughout the whole day ✨

Ceremony flowers don’t have to be used for just one moment. Aisle arrangements can frame an entrance later in the evening. Meadow flowers can be moved to the top table. Statement pieces can become beautiful focal points in the reception space and completely transform the atmosphere of a room.

We loved reworking these flowers from ceremony to reception and seeing how naturally everything flowed from one part of the day to the next…A reminder that floral styling is often about placement just as much as the flowers themselves.

Pinterest is a lovely place to start when you’re planning your wedding flowers…but it’s not always the full picture.

A lot of those “perfect” images are created without the same time, budget, or seasonal limitations that real weddings have.

Behind every bouquet is this part…the buckets, the choosing, the shaping, the making.

That’s where the magic actually happens.

Managing expectations doesn’t mean lowering them. It means creating something that works for your day… and still feels just as special.

Pinterest is a beautiful place to start…but knowing how to use it properly will make your life so much easier.

A few things to keep in mind:
A lot of what you’re seeing are styled shoots or higher budget weddings. They’re designed to inspire, not always to be replicated exactly.

Flowers are seasonal. That perfect palette might not naturally exist at the time of your wedding day.

Budgets matter! Some of those looks are created with far more stems, time, and setup than most couples realise.

That doesn’t mean you have to lower your expectations. It just means shaping them into something that works for your day.

There’s something so special about including the little parts of your life that matter most. Seriously though, we’re always a little obsessed when dogs are involved.

If you’re thinking about having your dog there, it’s so worth knowing dog chaperones are a thing too… helping with timings, walks, and making sure they’re looked after while you enjoy your day 🐾
