Apparently spending my working week surrounded by gorgeous flowers and colour isn’t enough, because I’ve now decided to give my bedroom a maximalist makeover! 😂

Welcome to Life in Colour, a little look at what I get up to when I’m not knee-deep in wedding flowers.

And what better way to kick things off than with the absolute state of my bedroom!

What started as stripping the walls has revealed some rather impressive cracks. And when I say impressive, I mean bloody massive! 🤣 Not quite the glamorous start I had in mind.

I’ve got big plans for this room. Think bold colours, gorgeous patterns and absolutely no beige in sight. But first, I’ve got to get the walls looking like actual walls again.

The deadline is mid-November, because after that it’s Christmas decorating time, and with four trees to put up, I’ve got enough to keep me busy!

So here’s Episode 01 of Life in Colour. Wish me luck, because I think I’m going to need it! 🩷🧡

I want someone to see a bouquet and think, “That looks like Tash’s work”, while the person carrying it feels like it could only have been made for them.

A perfectly reasonable brief to give myself 😂

Looking at these bouquets together, they’re all so different. There are tropical flowers, soft pastels, bold sunflowers and trailing autumn colours, but I can still see the things I’m always drawn to: lovely movement, flowers dancing above the others, wandering stems and softened edges.

That’s the thread running through my work, and then each couple brings something different to it.

Your favourite colours, a flower that reminds you of someone, a connection to somewhere you’ve travelled together or an idea you’re excited about all give me something to work with. Sometimes you know exactly what you want, and sometimes we discover it through chatting.

I love having that room to create something new for every wedding. It keeps me excited about what I do, and it means your flowers start with you.

So yes, I’ll probably carry on giving myself this particular problem.

Tiny disco balls in a bridal bouquet? Oh, go on then. 🪩

With hot pink, orange and deep blackberry shades, speckled Lepoard print orchids and little flowers dancing above the bigger blooms, there’s plenty to fall in love with here. But those little flashes of sparkle tucked between the flowers might just be my favourite part.

I love it when a bouquet gives you a little glimpse of the person carrying it, whether that’s through an unapologetic amount of colour, a favourite flower or a few disco balls catching the light.

What would you want tucked into yours?

It’s crazy to me that you’re still trying to make your wedding flower Pinterest board look perfectly coordinated when it really doesn’t need to make any sense at all.

You might have saved one photo because you love the colours, another because there’s something about how wild and relaxed the bouquet feels, and a completely different tablescape because you love the atmosphere it creates. There might even be a random photo in there because you’ve spotted one tiny detail that you absolutely love.

And that is genuinely useful to me.

You don’t need to work out exactly what flowers you want before you enquire, know the names of everything you’ve saved, or somehow turn 47 completely different screenshots into one perfectly put-together wedding flower brief. That’s my job.

When I look through your inspiration, I’m looking for the things you keep coming back to without necessarily realising it yourself. It might be a particular colour combination, lots of movement, a certain shape, or simply the way those images make you feel.

Then we can add in the things that actually mean something to you — a flower your grandad grew, a nod to somewhere you’ve travelled together, a favourite colour you’ve been told isn’t very wedding, or just something you bloody love and want to include.

That’s the bit I obsess over: taking all of those different ideas and turning them into wedding flowers that feel completely like you, rather than a copy of somebody else’s Pinterest board.

So please don’t tidy your Pinterest board up for me. Send me the random screenshots, the clashing ideas and the pictures you don’t really know why you love.

I’ll work out what connects them. 🌸

I hear this all the time from couples, and somewhere along the way I think we’ve made people believe they need to know their dahlias from their delphiniums before they’re allowed to speak to a florist.

You really don’t.

I’m far more interested in you. Show me the colours you keep coming back to. Send me the Pinterest pictures you’ve saved. Tell me about your venue, what you love, what you absolutely don’t want, and most importantly, how you want your wedding to feel.

Maybe you want wild and romantic. Maybe you want joyful colour everywhere. Maybe you want something soft and relaxed. Or maybe you just know you don’t want it to look like everybody else’s wedding.

That’s enough.

Because figuring out what’s in season, which flowers will work together, where to spend your budget, how to create movement and how we carry that feeling from your bouquet through to your ceremony and reception?

That’s my bit. And I’m wildly obsessive about it.

So please don’t wait until you’ve “figured out the flowers” before you enquire.

Well… that was BUSY 🌸

Yesterday was such a bloody lovely day. So many conversations about weddings, colour, flowers, venues, Pinterest boards and all the things you’re planning for 2027 and 2028.

There were also definitely people I didn’t get the chance to properly speak to. At some points I was chatting to one couple while another was waiting, so if you stopped by, had a nose at the flowers and thought “I’ll come back…” only to get swept up in wedding fair chaos, hello 👋🏻

My favourite kind of couple isn’t the one with the biggest budget… it’s the couple who says, I trust you. Do your thing.

They come to me with a feeling rather than a perfectly colour-coded Pinterest board, caring more about how their wedding feels than simply how it looks.

They’re excited by the weird little details and open to colour, movement, texture and something slightly unexpected.

They tell me about the first time they met, their favourite place, the flowers their mum grew and the band they’re obsessed with. All those little pieces of their story become part of the floral design.

Because honestly, those are the weddings I love most.

Not necessarily the biggest or fanciest — just the ones where I get to create something that feels completely, unmistakably them.

And when a couple gives me that kind of trust. That’s when the really good stuff happens. 🌿

Imagine walking into your wedding ceremony and feeling an immediate sense of excitement before a single word has been spoken.

Not because everything is perfectly coordinated, or because every flower matches the colour scheme exactly, but because the whole space feels alive. The colours make you smile, the flowers seem to spill naturally into the room, and there’s a feeling that what you’re looking at couldn’t belong to anyone else.

When couples first get in touch, they often think we’re going to spend most of our time talking about flowers. In reality, we spend far more time talking about atmosphere. We talk about how they want their wedding to feel, what they want their guests to experience, and the little details that make their relationship and story unique.

The flowers come afterwards.

For this wedding, colour, movement and abundance were at the heart of every decision. The aim wasn’t to create something that looked perfect in a photograph. It was to create something joyful, welcoming and full of personality from the moment guests arrived.

Because when I think back to my favourite weddings, it’s rarely the individual flowers I remember most. It’s the atmosphere they helped create and the feeling that the whole day was a genuine reflection of the couple at its centre.

One of the things I love most about weddings is that no two ever feel quite the same.

Not because one couple has chosen a flower nobody has ever used before, or because they’ve spent months chasing the latest trend, but because the best weddings are rooted in the people at the centre of them. The colours they love. The atmosphere they want to create. The little details that tell their story.

That’s exactly how I approach wedding flowers.
I’m not looking for what’s fashionable or what everybody else is doing this year. I’m looking for ways to create flowers that feel connected to the couple, the celebration and the atmosphere they want their guests to experience.

Because long after the trends have faded, the weddings people remember are the ones that felt genuine. The ones that felt like the people getting married.

What’s one thing you’re including in your wedding simply because you love it?

Most wedding florists won’t tell you this, but I don’t actually need you to know what flowers you want.

In fact, I’d say most of my couples couldn’t name more than a handful of flowers before they started planning their wedding, and that’s completely normal.

What they do know is that they want the day to feel relaxed rather than formal, colourful without feeling chaotic, and beautiful without feeling too weddingy. They want their guests to walk into the room and immediately feel something, even if they can’t quite put it into words.

That’s actually far more useful to me than a list of flower names.

Because my job isn’t to recreate a Pinterest board. It’s to understand what matters to you, what atmosphere you’re trying to create and how you want the day to feel when you’re standing in the middle of it surrounded by your favourite people.

The flowers are simply one of the tools we use to get there.

So if you’ve been putting off enquiring because you don’t have a finished vision, a detailed brief or a perfectly organised Pinterest board, please don’t.

Most of my couples start with a handful of screenshots, a vague idea and a lot of I don’t really know how to explain it.

That’s exactly what I’m here for.
