Who I Am ๐ซ itโs been a while since I have introduced myself to the newbies, so hello, my name is Polly and I like to party (if you havenโt seen Hot Rod, shame on you)
I am squeezing the last few months out of my 30s and am a retired (๐๐ปโโ๏ธ) music teacher. It was a lifelong dream to be a mother and raise my children from home, so when Pudding A and Pudding B arrived , I left the classroom behind. Iv always loved creativity and a project, and thus started a food blog about living and eating through the seasons. Life got busier and I decided to move on from the hours of typing up recipes. We moved house, and everything was pretty chilled for a while...
Then I met up with for coffee one day, and she pretty much pushed me into what would become Season Floral Co ๐ธ initially I was in the game to encourage others to give floristry a go, and realise the joy of working with fresh flowers and foliage. Cue Covid. Overnight my business went from invading peoples personal spaces in workshops to dropping bouquets, kits and wreaths at peopleโs doors and legging it ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ nearly 14 months later I am allowing myself to be called a home studio florist. Cool.
Aside from Jesus, my family, friends, and flowers, I love two things. Eating and exercising. Since babies (and a sickeningly strong course of steroids for medical reasons) the balance of these two loves hasnโt been fantastic but in the summer of 2020 something clicked.
I took the โblameโ of being a mother for my being overweight, hugely fatigued and mental heaviness, and turned it into responsibility of being a mother, to take care of my body and mind; I wanted to be better for myself and everyone around me.
After six months of hard but enjoyable work, I have not only shed nearly 3 stone, but, I have shed the old Polly that held us back as family, that held myself back as a wife, mother and friend. Now, I have felt the want to share my story. Not to judge, not to make you feel worse, but to help you to see your potential to become stronger mentally and physically. I tell my kids everyday they can be anything they want so why as adults do we limit ourselves when we grow up.
