In the studio at Tattershall creating my latest tutorial for my online flower club. This one is about abundance and frames.

This month we're also covering pricing of jam jars, posies and bouquets for those selling flowers by their gates.

Our next tutorial is creating the perfect summers handtied bouquet.

It's a white theme in the garden at present as I'm picking and designing for Oxcombe Pottery wedding open day event 10.00 till 1.00 this Saturday. No need to book just turn up if you're looking for a beautiful, quaint venue to hold your wedding.

I nipped out between the rain to pick from the garden for my designs. Everything has to be picked 24hrs prior to designing with so each stem has a good drink.

Today, I'm off to dress the church with the flowers available in their hire packages. All the flowers are seasonal, flowering now picked from my own garden or from Oxcombe making them super sustainable!

This was early May and it seems such a longtime ago now. I used the stain glass windows as inspiration for the colours of the design. The sun shining through offers a gently light and warmth to this old Church nestled in the grounds at Oxcombe Pottery just outside of Horncastle.

The flowers and foliage were gathered from the grounds again using seasonal elements to unify the Church with the beauty of the doors.

The stunning Tulips were grown by me in my garden waiting for such a display. All of course in water where flowers should be not stuck in blocks of plastic (floral foam).

I'm sketching out the designs for Saturdays open day including my own little table set up. I do need to wander the grounds and my own garden as we had heavy rain last night which tends to put an end to some of the flowers.

Come and say 'hello' on Saturday at Oxcombe Pottery for their wedding event. Have a look around the grounds including the beautiful church.

I'll be there to guide you through any questions on making seasonal flowers as part of your wedding.

My theme for this event is 'Roses' all from my garden.

Join us for a relaxed evening at Oxcombe, this Wednesday 6th May 6-8pm 🌷

As the first of two open events this Spring, our open evening brings the opportunity to explore the grounds and gardens with a glass of bubbly in hand, and picture your special day. Our team will be on hand to give you a tour and answer any questions you may have along the way. No need to book, we look forward to welcoming you!

Why I love a 'Sweet Pea'💕

Honestly, I gave a happy florist kind of dance (a little wiggle and giggle) when I found Fiona had add Sweet Peas to my buckets for collection ready for a 'Mum and Daughter Bouquet Experience' with me last week.

As always, I carefully explained the flowers at the workshop and why each one had been chosen. But the Sweet Pea always brings out the oohs, aahs smiles and stories.

It always makes me laugh because I'm trying to explain their merits from a floristry point of view (all serious and technical, of course!). Yet this little flower needs no great introduction or justification. People simply lean in, take a deep breath and suddenly they're sharing memories of grandparents' gardens, childhood summers, or the first Sweet Peas they ever grew themselves.

As a Florist (yes the serious, technical bit), it helps to soften the focal flower, it provides graceful, organic lines, it helps to transition colour between the mass flowers and of course it provides scent and let's not underestimate the power of 'sniffing' a bouquet on arrival.

A fleeting flower, but one that leaves a lasting impression.
