π ELITE SUPERPOLE β FOUR RECORDS FALL AS THE PACE HOTS UP! π₯
34 drivers, 23 personal bests and just 2.414 seconds covering the entire field β this weekβs Elite Superpole delivered another fantastic evening on our 20th Anniversary Circuit!
With 13 drivers breaking into the 34s and the fastest 18 covered by less than a second, every small improvement made a difference. The category contests gave us plenty to talk about tooβ¦ π
π₯ Finley Johnson set the pace in the 17β39 category and overall, recording a stunning 34.106 to claim a NEW OUTRIGHT CIRCUIT LAP RECORD!
Jason Hiew was his nearest category challenger with a 34.638 PB and fifth overall. Behind him, Louis Canlettβs 34.796 edged Davy Swanβs 34.799 PB by just 0.003 seconds, with Joseph Gani close behind on 34.837. Josh Godfrey also broke into the top ten with a 34.907 PB.
Finleyβs benchmark leaves the first sub-34 lap tantalisingly close. Who will find that little bit extra and become the first driver into the 33s? π₯
π₯ Ady Stead delivered a superb 34.301 PB to finish second overall and set a NEW 40β59 CATEGORY LAP RECORD, just 0.195 seconds behind Finley!
Jon Evans took second in the category with 34.943, followed by Derek Reidβs 35.064 PB. Craig Blades and Simon Carruthers also improved their bests, finishing just 0.009 seconds apart on 35.097 and 35.106.
Further down the category, Paul McKinley recorded a 35.471 PB, ahead of Stuart Worrell and Chris Underwood. Ady may have led the way, but there was close competition throughout!
π₯ Elijah Casey was tonightβs fastest under-17 driver, claiming third overall with an excellent 34.547 PB.
Emerson Wilson followed just 0.058 seconds behind on 34.605, while James Peers completed the categoryβs top three with 34.939. All three under-17 drivers broke 35 seconds β impressive pace from our younger competitors! π
Emerson retains the under-17 circuit record of 34.487, with Elijahβs new PB now only 0.060 seconds away. Thatβs a battle to keep an eye on!
π Ian Wray led the over-60 category with a brilliant 34.780 PB, securing sixth overall and setting a NEW OVER-60 CIRCUIT LAP RECORD!
Dave Moulds also improved with a 35.472 PB, while Colin Dawson made it three personal bests from three drivers in the category with his 36.520. A clean sweep of improvements! πͺ
π Hannah Barrs lowered the FEMALE CIRCUIT LAP RECORD with a superb 35.135 PB, finishing just 1.029 seconds behind the outright leader.
Laura Redhead also set a new personal best of 35.895, meaning both female drivers finished the evening with improved benchmarks. Fantastic work from both! π
β±οΈ Some of the margins were almost unbelievable. Paul McKinley and Dave Moulds were separated by just 0.001 seconds! James Peers, Jon Evans and Kieran Grundy occupied three consecutive positions covered by only 0.009, while Conor Kingdon edged Derek Reid by 0.003.
There were fresh PBs for Kieran Grundy, Liam Cordall, Luke Smith, Robbie Boot, Jake Taylor, Liam Long-Melton, George Walden and Declan Weatherer too. With 23 drivers improving, there was plenty to celebrate right across the leaderboard.
