After a brilliant Christmas Market in 2025, with over 9,000 people visiting across the four days, we’re pleased to announce that our Christmas Market will be back again this festive season!

Opening times:

Thursday 3rd December: 12:00 – 20:00

Friday 4th December: 10:00 – 20:00

Saturday 5th December: 10:00 – 20:00

Sunday 6th December: 10:00 – 16:00

Across the four days, there’ll be over 40 stalls to browse, with handmade crafts, unique gifts, seasonal treats and Christmas decorations. Whether you’re looking for presents or just fancy a look around, there’ll be plenty to choose from.

Our café and tea room will also be open throughout the market, so you can take a break from browsing, grab a hot drink and enjoy a slice of cake.

The Christmas Market is completely free to attend and pet-friendly, so please feel free to bring the whole family along!

We hope to see you there and look forward to welcoming you back for another festive weekend!

Our offices will be closed from 25th August until 2nd September while our team prepares for and works throughout the Steampunk Weekend. We’ll also be taking a much-needed day off on the Tuesday following the event.

Our monthly Gift and Craft fair is back this weekend from 11am - 4pm with free entry and some absolutely amazing stalls it is the perfect place to come and visit whilst you are enjoying a sunny walk in the Bailgate.

Our cafe will also be open for the duration on the fair so why not pop in and enjoy some of our wonderful, cakes, paninis and selection of both hot and cold drinks.

The Fair and venue is also dog friendly, so please feel free to bring your furry friends along. P.s we have dog treats available at our café bar, please just ask a member of our staff and they will be more than happy to get you some 🐾

We would like to thank all of the wonderful customers and guests that we have had in the venue over the past month in an extremely busy summer period for us so far.

We now have a bit of a quieter week this week, allowing our maintenance team to touch up the venue ready for the next few weeks and for our office team to catch up on out to-do lists upstairs. We would like to thank everyone for their patience over these weeks, and we look forward to the rest of the month ahead including our busiest and one of our favourite times of the year with the Ministry of Steampunks Asylum 16.

Just an advance warning for the bank holiday weekend, our office will be closed from the 28th August to the 1st September whilst the festival is taking place and with a day for us all to recover after a very busy weekend. Any emails and calls received in this period will be responded to on the 2rd of September when we return, however if you do have an urgent enquiry or question during this time, please send us a message through our social media channels and we will be able to help.🩷

Following the success of its debut in York, we are pleased to announce that we have been chosen as the venue in Lincoln for the 'Jupiter Cloud Book Festival' on the 19th September 2026 from 11am-5pm.

With over 30 stalls full of authors ready to sign your new favourite book, and countless bookish gifts available throughout the venue. So, whether you are a reader or writer there will be something for everyone one.

Uncover the fascinating history of witchcraft and how patriarchal ideas shaped the image of a witch. Followed by Q&A

The image of the witch is often portrayed as a female figure, closely tied to the perception of witchcraft as a female crime. Throughout centuries of European witchcraft history, women were the main targets of accusations, trials, and executions, reinforcing the connections between witchcraft and societal expectations of women.

When examined through a feminist lens, the history of witchcraft reveals how patriarchal structures have weaponised the fear of witchcraft to control and oppress women. Many feminist scholars argue that the persecution of witches served as a means to enforce gender roles, limit female autonomy, and maintain male dominance. But was this truly the case?

This talk will look at the real-life stories of individuals tried by the Roman Inquisition during the early modern period, exploring the lives, beliefs, and magical practices of both women and men accused of witchcraft by their communities. We will ultimately challenge the idea that witchcraft was solely a female crime.

Earlier this week we had the privilege of being the chosen wedding venue for Ruth and Gareth's wedding. They began their wedding day getting married in our courtyard, before enjoying afternoon tea in the Edwardian Suite and ending the night with a party in the Ballroom, using all of our main event spaces for their wedding day!

Ruth and Gareth have very kindly shared two photos of themselves on their wedding day with us, and can we just say how amazing they look! From all of us here at the Lincoln County Assembly Rooms we would like to wish Mr and Mrs Honour all the best in the future and a massive congratulations again 🩷🥂
