Hello all!
Scrolling through my photos to find something to post. This beautiful collection of dahlias from .bournearton tells a tale of this week!
The dim light is because I was running out of day light picking at 9pm. How the nights are drawing in.
A lovely little wedding set up at .bedale today has brought an end to what’s been a crazy week of trailing around the countryside after teenagers, and the usual flowery chaos!

Leyburn has been teeming with visitors lately, it’s great to see! Thanks to those who’ve visited the shop over the last few days.
It’s been so incredibly hot, a tricky time to stock perishable goods. So always best to call in the mornings, ring to order to avoid disappointment or of course you can order for collection on the website.
We order or pick little and often so you’re getting fresh flowers. If you call into a florist at 4pm and they’ve a full stand of flowers they will be used the next day. Call into us at 4pm and we will hope to be completely if not nearly out of flowers.

From home i’m cutting…
Amaranthus
Dahlias
Statice
Scabious
Sweet peas
Echinacea
Cosmos
Verbena

Note to self, must upscale next year!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Good morning all!
Sorry I’ve been quiet on the grid!
School holidays, weddings, picking flowers, going to the co-op every day (who can relate), trailing teenagers around etc etc etc!
I cannot tell you how many times I start a post and then someone or something distracts me, fingers crossed I get to finish this one.
So as above it’s hectic in life but lovely and calm in the shop. We have lots of visitors who are always so complimentary and it’s so lovely to see the reaction of fresh eyes visiting the shop for the first time.
We have been here long enough to enjoy and remember returning visitors which is so humbling. Gifts for the cat sitter, dog sitter, neighbour who has been watering the garden are frequently bought. Know even a £2.50 succulent makes all the difference to a tiny independent shop in a tiny town!
This place is such a sanctuary and I am truly grateful to still be here! X🌿

Wild carrot anyone?
The meadow is looking glorious, It’s going to make the most delicious hay when the pollinators have finished with it!
I’m cutting everyday for the shop, this morning I found a flat patch where our resident deer had been having a rest. You can just about see it on the story.

Good morning all!
What a glorious spell of weather we are having!
Thanks to everyone who came along on our trip on Wednesday. It was so lovely. Thank you and and Debbie our trusty Bus driver. We had a fabulous day, it’s well worth a visit!
So flowers at the moment are, sweet peas, daucus, dill, amaranthus, snaps, lavender, hypericum still a few nigella, cornflower and astrantia.
When it’s especially warm we’re buying little each day so order flowers in advance to avoid disappointment.
Still space on our summer flower arranging course.
Email for details [email protected].

Have a great weekend x🌿

Hazy light somehow!
A crazy day yesterday but lovely and busy in the shop !
I spared an hour catching up with overdue emails. I felt like a weight had been lifted and then everyone replied with a new question so I now have a new wave of emails to reply to! 😩! I can only do admin in the morning, something about my brain cannot function properly in the afternoon or evening anymore. After I accidentally bank transferred £1500 to the wrong invoice at 10 pm one evening I made a decision to try very hard to only pay bills and email people first thing. Is it an age thing, are your 40’s not as productive mentally? Or is it me who’s tired and hates admin with a passion so procrastinates! Probably the latter!
Anyhow have a great day all! I’ve a funeral to do and then start prepping for this weekends wedding!
Thanks for listening if you’ve got this far!

Amy x🌿

A beautiful mix in this morning!
Interesting fact, on the website we make it simple, you can have pastel, bright and colourful or green and white. The figures are 60% bright and colourful, 35% pastel and 5% white and green.
What can I surmise? People of Leyburn and the Dales prefer a bit of colour! Great for me as I’d always choose white and green, so any half dead white left over comes home for me to enjoy!

Thanks to Jenny for bringing in some sweet peas, mine are a few days off yet although this warm weather will spur them on!
