She arrived worried that nothing in the boutique would fit…

As a high-street size 18, this lovely bride-to-be felt nervous about wedding dress shopping. She wasn’t sure what she wanted and feared that finding a gown might be difficult.

This is exactly why I created Love & Lavender Bridal Boutique. 💜

I help brides-to-be, mother of the bride / groom, bridesmaids who feel self-conscious, overwhelmed or worried enjoy the relaxed experience they deserve.

During a private, unhurried appointment, this bride-to-be tried more than 12 gowns—including styles she would never have chosen from the rail.

There were definite “no” dresses, some lovely surprises and plenty of honest conversation, but never any pressure to buy.

Gradually, the focus shifted away from size labels and towards something far more important: how each gown made the bride-to-be feel.

In her own words:
“I felt wonderful being a high-street size 18. I was worried that nothing in the shop would fit me. Debbie was kind and advised, but there was no pressure to buy any dress.”

And then she said yes to the dress. 🤍

At Love & Lavender, appointments are free, private and completely unhurried. I offer kind, honest guidance based on your shape, style and budget—not the number on a label.

Just married, Emily Atack! 💍🤍

Emily Atack tied the knot last weekend in an intimate church ceremony, wearing a breathtaking bespoke version of JULIETTE by Avenue by Josephine Scott.

The look? Romantic long sleeves, a plunging neckline, delicate lace cuffs and a beautiful keyhole back, finished with a dramatic lace-edged veil and bespoke Charlotte Mills shoes. 🤍

And we couldn’t help but notice how much we LOVE this bridal look…

So we recreated the feel with ATHENA from the Annalise Collection at British Bridal — and we’re obsessed. 😍

🤍 The right wedding dress shouldn’t only make you look beautiful.

It should make you feel safe enough to be yourself.

I meet so many brides who arrive worrying about their tummy, arms, bust, weight or the number written on a label.

But underneath those worries, there is often something much bigger going on.

They’re frightened of feeling exposed.
They worry that nothing will fit. That everyone else will have an opinion. That they’ll be pressured into spending more than they can afford. Or that they won’t have the emotional “say yes to the dress” moment they’ve seen on television.

👗 A beautiful collection of gowns is important – but dresses alone don’t create a wonderful bridal experience.

A bride needs time to breathe.

She needs honest advice, reassurance and permission to say, “No, that isn’t me,” without feeling awkward.

She needs to know that she doesn’t have to lose weight, understand bridal sizing or arrive with the perfect Pinterest picture.

Most importantly, she needs to feel that the appointment belongs to her. 💜

It was a very special YES to the dress from our lovely Love & Lavender bride, Gemma! 🤍✨

This was Gemma’s second visit, and it was so lovely to welcome her and her mum, Helen, back again. Gemma first visited us last month and narrowed her search down to three beautiful dresses… but this afternoon, she found the one! 🥰👰‍♀️
