We are so excited to begin our Summer 2025 Chamber Course programme! Over the next four weeks, talented children from 6-19yrs will be gathering with old friends and new, under the inspiring leadership of our our world-leading chamber music coaches, in the beautiful surroundings of Blundell's School and Rossall School for a magical summer of music-making! We can't wait to be a part of it.

Local Pro Corda supporters came to Leiston Abbey in force for Andrew’s Farewell Concert on Saturday. With a programme telling Andrew’s personal story with the organisation over the years – from our core chamber music courses to our SEND activity - the great warmth both for Andrew and for Pro Corda was palpable! Thank you to everyone who came to say farewell.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I’d like to thank Andrew for his enormous dedication to Pro Corda over the past 17 years. His commitment to inspiring young people through music has been tireless, for which we are enormously grateful – as we know are the countless students, parents and teachers who’ve benefitted from his leadership.

We’re delighted to welcome Miranda Johnson to the helm, bringing diverse experience from both the commercial and charitable sectors – as well as a passion for Pro Corda as an alumna herself – to take the organisation into its next chapter.

Yesterday saw the Grand Final of the 2025 National Chamber Music Festival for Schools and all the winners have been announced at procorda.com/festival
What an intensely exciting and action packed day of chamber music we enjoyed at School in Surrey. Thank you to all the schools across the country who took part for their incredibly hard work, to the teachers and parents for their dedication, and above all, the students who took part across the whole festival. It has been a wonderful celebration of the talent and working together of the next generation of chamber musicians, and it was an immense privilege to witness.

After some absolutely stunning performances from schools across the country we are delighted to announced the Finalists of the 2025 National Schools' Festival. Huge congratulations to all the school ensembles that have made it through to the Final and thank you to everyone who has been part of the Festival journey so far.
The Grand Final will take place at Woldingham School in Surrey this Sunday 16th March. We can't wait!! All the finalists and details are at procorda.com

A personal message to the Pro Corda family from Andrew:
"This time last year I made the decision to step back as CEO and Artistic Director of Pro Corda. I love Pro Corda as much today as I did the very first time I walked in to Abbey House as a student aged 12. I firmly believe no one should be in post for ever, and I have been in post for nearly 17 years. My last day will be the National Finals of the Schools Festival in Woldingham on 16th March. The 12 month period has given time to properly set up transition and I’m delighted to welcome Miranda Johnson as my replacement as CEO with further announcements soon. I’ve known Miranda for many years and I am delighted she has agreed to take up the post. Formerly Director of Development at Snape Maltings / Britten Pears Arts, Miranda brings a range of fantastic skills and we will be introducing her very soon.
It is an overly used phrase, but I can honestly say that being CEO of Pro Corda has and will always be the privilege of my life. I started coaching on the courses in 1997, and when I took over in 2008 I knew so well – and from my time as a student – what the magic of Pro Corda is. It is truly a music school which walks alongside its many students to help them lift above the ordinary to achieve the extraordinary. I’m so very grateful to such a brilliant team over all these years who have helped me enable the huge widening of Pro Corda’s access. From the Create Together programme to the chamber courses, Pro Corda really is a music school like no other. And at the heart of Pro Corda is that the true spirit of chamber music lives not just in the coaching session and performance but in the way the Pro Corda community and family are together. The social powers of chamber music in equal measure to its artistic wonder has always been our driving force. You all really do feel like my family, and my biggest thanks of all is to the generations of Pro Corda students I’ve had the honour of working with. You’ve all been my inspiration and always will be. Take care and keep up your creative energy always. The world needs creative thinking like never before. Thank you all."
