HELLO FROM ME 👋

This is me, just in more of a cartoon form!

I’ve been a little quiet on the socials of late. Mainly because of a big renovation project I’ve had going on at home. I’ve pretty much had to move things out of most rooms upstairs so what was my craft space has become quite clogged up with stuff from elsewhere!

However the end is in site. It also means I will have a large loft eave space where I can store a lot of my makes. Getting there.

I have been able to plan the direction of where I want to to take things this year and there will be a few minor changes on the horizon, all good I promise!

Anyhow, how has everyone been? Can we all do a sun dance please because this wet weather is getting right on my nerves!

OH CHRISTMAS TREE

I had such a fun time at my Christmas Fayres these last few weeks in Leigh.

I want to say a big thankyou to everyone who bought from me this year. It really does make the creating, time and effort all the worth while!

I love seeing all your decorations hanging on the tree, so keep them pictures coming if you did buy from me and give me a little tag!

FESTIVE VIBES

These reindeer inspired headbands are making a come back again this year after being so popular at my last Christmas markets!

They are made with natural cotton cord in a delicate design ready for all those little ones to look cute in!!

You can find me this weekend at Leigh Community Centre, Leigh and back down in Old Leigh opposite The Crooked Billet on Saturday 6 December.

HERE I GO AGAIN!

I’ve been busy making some petals for my 3d flower lampshade that I’ve been creating. I’m going to be installing this in my craft room and am hoping it will lead onto further 3d shapes that can be used to decorate special occasions!

Anyhow, it’s all a bit trial and error with this one to try and ‘construct it’!! It’s important to do prototypes so you can engage sizes and for me to build it up. Some cords vary in thickness.

Here I used a 5mm cord for the second petal layer but it’s got more shell vibes than petal for me, and it’s way too big. So I will go back to the drawing board and create a smaller one using 3mm cord! So here I go again!

This lampshade is a definite work in progress but I wanted to show you a bit more behind the scenes of my processes!

Can’t wait to finish this one off!

WHAT NEXT?

Before we know it there will be robots and dolls taking over our jobs! Who knows where Ai is going at this rate let alone anything else!

But handmade has to and WILL stay! It’s exactly that, Handmade! By a real person, not a robot or a computer in some factory.

Support small and support real people. Nothing beats macrame that has been lovingly created by a person who takes care and pride over it. A unique piece of creativity that is not mass produced!

FRIDAY FUNDAY!

Few weeks back for a little bit of fun I thought I’d ask Chat GPT to act as much drunk best friend and describe my business!

I completely forgot to post it and after seeing a few others do this, it prompted me to upload! I also thanked it and it had this to say too!! 😂

UPCOMING FAYRES

I’ve been pretty manic lately creating lots of hanging Christmas decorations and decor, so most of my time has been away from the socials and work work work!

My dining room table looks like an elf’s workshop, I have sparkly cord all over the place and lots of glue gun burns in the process!!

So I thought I better remind everyone where I’ll be this next month, so here you go;

This Sat 9 Nov: Hockley Community centre. 11am-3pm

16-17 Nov: at Leigh Community Centre. 12pm-4pm

8 Dec: in Old Leigh opposite The Crooked Billet. 10am-5pm

I’m super excited to be attending these Fayres. I’ve been busy working away on a few new designs which I keep forgetting to show you all. So I guess you better pop along if you want to find out more!

GRINCH ANYONE?

I really wanted to make a fun piece of decor for my Christmas markets and so why not make a classic piece I thought!

A while later and lots of hot glue (and a few burnt fingers in between!) I came up with this! Made from as much natural material as possible using a cork ball and cotton macrame cord, this is it.

As far as my first attempt goes, I’m pretty damn pleased with him! There will be some limited editions of these at my upcoming markets.
