Seen this doing the rounds this morning and had to share!!
** Time For Common Sense To Prevail **
Venus - Owners - Managers - Bookers
Following what will be the inevitable speech this morning we are determined to encourage as many venues as possible to stay open, not fall by the wayside and become yet another reluctant statistic. We need to work around this continuing nonsense and utter madness we find ourselves living in!
Closing at 10pm or 11pm really doesn't make much difference, CLOSING COMPLETELY will be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of live entertainment venues and the many artistes that ply their trade within them.
Why not consider bringing everything forward an hour on a Friday or Saturday night ... for example start @ 7.00pm, finish by 9.45pm?
Maybe a game of bingo, a quiz or perhaps put on special drink / food offers, or something similar to start the night off and entice earlier footfall?
On a Sunday, you can almost do as you please, you could make it a late afternoon start, maybe 4pm or 5pm, and encourage families to come out - you may even reach potential new members / customers!
An early finish means everyone can get ready for work / school etc without the worry of a late night.
How many times over the years have we heard the following
"everyone had gone by 10.15" or "we played to ourselves on the last set" π€
People had already started going out earlier and leaving for home earlier anyway, not due to a misinformed pandemic but due to changes in how we lead our lives and how we now socialise.
At the end of the day it's still revenue for the you and ensures that these important social hubs keep ticking over, it also sends an important message to all your clients, customers & members that you will fight this madness and keep these venues - which are massively important to the local communities - open and in reasonably good shape for when we eventually return to normality ππΌ
