We’re a few days removed from Day of the Gundam 2, and on behalf of the organisers (Gundam Mad) we want to take the opportunity to say a big thank you!
The outpouring of love and support we’ve seen and received both publicly and privately the past few days across all our channels has been so heartwarming and made it so worth it.
If you attended, be it for the first time or if you were returning after our 2025 event, thank you for putting your trust in us! We hope you enjoyed yourselves.
To everyone who gave up their time and effort to help make it a truly special day, be you a volunteer on our crew (including the gophers from various events around the UK who came to lend extra help), or one of our partners, featured guests, or even were in our Artists Alley… Thank you!
We have to thank the Tokonatsu Team, Cosmic Group & Raffaele Du Marteau, Bandai, Mantic Games & Alessio Cavatore, Asmodee, Anime Limited, Crunchyroll, MVM Entertainment, Stephanie Rose, Double Alpha Live, MJ2005GUNDAM, Xaerael Lockwood, and of course the staff at Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium.
Also, a quick acknowledgement and thank you to Stephanie Rose & Dom (aka Gundom_UK), who both stepped in to be part of the Creator Panel with DoubleAlphaLive & MJ2005GUNDAM. (For those unaware, Dom was attending the show as a visitor, and was more than willing to be part of the panel at short notice. MochiMecha, we hope you feel better soon!)
No matter what capacity you were involved in making Day of the Gundam 2 possible, thank you so much!
As we did last year, we will be putting out a feedback form soon to collect your thoughts and feelings so we can improve and adjust elements for future events.
Speaking of future events, the obvious question we’re sure a lot of you reading this have is: what’s next?
We want to make it absolutely clear, Day of the Gundam WILL RETURN!
When? That’s something the Gundam Mad team need more time to decide after (we hope you’ll agree) a very well deserved rest & recharge.
Putting on a debut event in 2025 was an amazing achievement, and following up with a second just 12 months later has also been incredibly rewarding, but has also meant a lot of burning the candle at both ends, so to speak.
So what we’ll say for now is this: Once the dust has settled more, once the batteries have recharged, we’ll be sure to make it known once plans are definitively locked in. But for now, watch this space.
Once more a huge thank you to all involved.
- The Gundam Mad Team.
