⭐️ MEET THE MENTORS ⭐️

We're pleased to introduce our next mentor, Pete Shenton Peter Shenton 🥳 Pete is joining the group of mentors as Dramaturgical support

Pete is a dance artist, comedy performer, deviser, writer, director, dramaturg, and teacher. He is one half of the pioneering comedy dance theatre makers, New Art Club, whom he has been presenting groundbreaking performances nationally and internationally since 2001. Their work has been translated for performance into French and Mandarin.

Pete is the resident director of Unanima Theatre Company, who devise work based on the lived experience of the company, all of whom have learning and / or developmental disabilities.

He is Programme Leader for MA Choreography and Senior Lecturer in Dance and Acting at De Montfort University.

He is currently working on his PhD by Professional Experience, exploring the concepts of being and play in the context of the collaborative creative process and performance of New Art Club.

He is also a member of the board of trustees for Fabric

De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) and strategic dance organisation FABRIC, are collaborating on creating a unique research centre for dance in the Midlands.

Welcoming Pree to the teacher team in both City and Bridgford pods this week 💜 and we can't wait for you to get to know her. The barre in the background is a bit of a giveaway, Pree is a graduate dance artist from De Montfort University and trained in Astanga and Vinyasa yoga, so expect a strong and dynamic range of movements on the mat. Catch her from tomorrow in her new Monday 5pm slot in West Bridgford, ready to put you through your steps xx

Second year students are performing a curtain raiser for Flexus Dance Collective at Deda - to a SOLD OUT audience.

Saturday in Leicester:
