Yorkshire scrubs makers are each doing a 4" patch to be part of a quilt to commemorate the scrub sewing effort. My little square is a "tree of life" with the names of each of you who have generously donated towards so many sets of scrubs. I have made 50 so far, plus about 180 hats. More than 6000 sets have been made and donated accross yorkshire. Apologies if your name is not visible, they are there somewhere!

Overwhelmed by your faith in me. £400raised towards fabric, all spent on orders already, although the wholesalers are under huge pressure with declining fabric stock, easter weekends etc.
50caps for nurses going out today, and sharing more fabric with other sewers. Thankyou for your incredible fundraising effort, many hospital trusts are still refusing 'home made' garments, so nurses (maybe if i stick a label on saying made in china they would take them.. Grr) but there is a huge network of fabulous people voluntarily making sure healthcare workers get what they need. I am proud to be one small cog in this massive engine of effort. I salute you all. And i will get some very strong coffee and get sewing!!

I have put all costume activity on hold. I have so far made 30 laundry bags and 20 hats, as they are not fussy about fabric. But the need for scrubs is overwhelming, and that requires plain (blueish) polycotton of a specific weight. I know there are requests for money from many quarters at the moment, and justly so. But £5 worth of fabric would be enough to make one set of scrubs, if any of my costume clients or friends is able to contribute i can buy rolls at wholesale prices. Sooo... Special thoughts to all my lovely dance teachers, stay in touch, and when this initial craziness settles down hopefully we will have time to plan for the future. Keep me posted with postponed show dates as they come in, so that costumes dont end up double booked. But for the moment just keep breathing and take care, we will get to the other side
