Beneath the Surface: A Leeds-based dubstep night, founded in the summer of 2017 by a bunch of mates who decided the bass music sounds that they loved (and continue to love) needed a new home in their city.
We, the BTS team, take much consideration when selecting the best DJs, venues, and soundsystems. We believe that musical perfection is achieved by standing in a dark, funky space, with 12000 watts of power massaging our internal organs (as well as our ears).
Intimacy and the conversation between the DJ and the crowd is paramount - which is why we craft our nights with lower capacities, more sound, and that family vibe that you just don't find at many events. Our collaborators of choice often include Blueberry Hill Studios, in which the mighty Sinai Sound System provides the sonic weaponry. In 2018, we have leapt into our full stride, graduating from small clubs to out of town, no-sound-restrictions warehouse parties. In September, we began working with the homegrown mastermind J.Sparrow and his genre-defying label Navy Cut, and in December, with the legendary Exodus party.
In 2018 we have hosted many artists from the UK and several overseas names, including Pinch, J.Sparrow, Author, Ruckspin/Leo James, Joe Nice, Distinct Motive, Hebbe, MC Pean, Sun of Selah, Six Sunsets, Siskiyou, and Fiend.
