This week I had consultation calls with two lovely brides whose weddings are coming up very soon. 👀

Both originally planned to style their weddings themselves… until reality started to hit and they began questioning how possible it really was.

Not because they can’t do it. Anyone can grab a load of candles from ikea and have their bridesmaids put them out, right?

But they realised they don’t actually want to spend the days before their wedding stressed, rushing around, and worrying about logistics and depending on the bridesmaids to achieve their vision.

They said things like…

“I just want to chill in a hot tub the night before.”

“I don’t think I can make the venue look as good as I want it to.”

“I don’t want my friends setting up decor on the morning of the wedding.”

“I don’t want the stress of figuring out what to buy or what to do with everything afterwards.”

“We can’t even get into the venue the day before because another wedding is on.”

This is exactly why wedding styling exists.

Your wedding morning should feel calm and your bridal party should be enjoying the morning with you. Walking into your venue knowing everything has been taken care of really is a great feeling.

And just for the record, we don’t get our candles from Ikea 🤭

Rules for wedding tablecloths if you don’t want them looking cheap af ✨

THEY NEED STEAMING!
Not just ironing and folding. On the day, your venue should have a steamer and staff making sure the linen is properly prepped before guests walk in. If styling matters to you, this is a huge deal. Creased linen can genuinely ruin the overall look of your tables and it’s something you should ask about before booking your venue.

FLOOR LENGTH ONLY
None of this halfway down the table business where you can still see the ugly metal legs underneath. If the cloth doesn’t reach the floor, we may as well not bother. Full length linen instantly makes a space feel more elevated.

TEXTURE & COLOUR CHANGE EVERYTHING
If you want your wedding to feel luxurious, different textures, tones and fabrics completely change the atmosphere of a room and can make your whole design feel much more high end. This can definitely be taken advantage of if your venue need you to hire linen in.

Table linen sounds boring until you realise it can completely make or break the look of your wedding.

I don't just decorate weddings. I take inspiration from the places that I go.

Beautiful architecture, calming interiors, textures and colours. I'm naturally drawn to neutral spaces and rattan is a little bit of me. There's just something about sitting in a calm, candlelit restaurant on holiday that I LOVE.

I do love exploring new interiors and spaces that aren't always my usual style too. I think seeing different types of design is what keeps the creativity flowing.

Although I won't lie, a lot of my exploring these days includes the Zara kids section and a park.

The amount of photos on my phone should be a crime, mostly of the kids but also of a random lampshade or vase that I saw and loved 😉

It’s not often I post still photos to the grid, but this wedding deserved a permanent spot.

The most perfect day at with , captured so beautifully by 🫶🏽

I’m not even joking when I say I scrolled through this entire album yesterday and by the end turned to my husband and said… that’s it, we need to get married again 🤭

The Fig House is my dream space to style. It’s calm, neutral and completely aligned with everything I love creatively. We definitely complement each other.

Emma & Asher | Oaklands at the Grand Lodge ✨

This wonderful couple booked me as their stylist two years before their wedding and I just knew it was going to be a beauty 🤍

We used a calm champagne colour palette with soft gold accents and white candles to complement the natural wood tones throughout the venue, while allowing the incredible florals by to truly take centre stage.

The wedding breakfast came together so perfectly and it was such a pleasure working alongside such amazing suppliers at one of my favourite venues 🥰
