What a way to close out a mad couple of weekends DJing. Keys, DMC Brewery, Obscure NCL and finally Slam Dunk Festival 2026 🙌
We had a blast during the day watching bands and slowly roasting, cocktails and ciders in hand. Saw good sets from SiM, Cancer Bats, Static Dress, Currents, President and Bury Tomorrow before witnessing Malevolence and Knocked Loose level the place. I'm all for the bigger focus on heavy bands that's gone on the last couple of years 🤘 really good to bump into a bunch of peeps I hadn't seen in a while as well!
Then it was on to the heavy afterparty at Santiago Bar for what became literally my favourite metal set I've done so far. I genuinely can't think of a better one. Going B2B with Liam from Cancer Bats was unreal! He was such a chill dude and was happy to roll with whatever plan the last bits of my confused sun-fried brain could cook up for us. Once we got going riffing off each other was absolutely class. The place was rammed the whole way through, even after Liam had to leave. Blasting all the big old-school nu metal and hardcore anthems to a packed crowd who'd been through just as long a day as you at the end of a fest and having all the tracks land perfectly is a feeling you just can't replace 🤘
So even after a couple of days to sleep it off (it was definitely only manic energy and beer holding me together near the end) I'm still absolutely buzzing. I'm gonna ride high on this for a good while as I plan for sets happening later this year, Infest being chief among them. In the meantime I'll be about at Keys and DMC per usual 😉
