Celebrating Community: The CTeen Impact Care Awards 2026

There is something incredibly powerful about capturing real, raw human connection through a camera lens. As a wedding and event photographer based in Leeds, I get to document some of the happiest days of people's lives. But recently, I had the absolute privilege of photographing an event that showcased a different kind of joy—the quiet, transformative beauty of community service.

I was invited to capture the CTeen Impact Care Awards (ICA) Dinner, hosted by the Chabad-Lubavitch Centre of Leeds

For those who aren’t familiar with the initiative, the Impact Care Awards scheme is a brilliant local programme designed for teenagers. It encourages them to step out into West Yorkshire, dedicate their time to voluntary care work, and discover firsthand the immense difference that small, consistent acts of kindness can make to vulnerable individuals across our city.

The annual dinner is a celebration of that dedication, and being trusted to document it was an absolute honour.
Capturing Moments That Matter

Event photography is about far more than just getting people to smile and look at the camera. It’s about preservation. It’s about freezing a split second of genuine emotion so that the feeling can be revisited for years to come.

When you look at the photographs from the evening, you don’t just see an awards presentation. You see the pride in the parents' eyes. You see the shared laughs between teenagers who spent their weekends making their community a warmer place. You see the deep, intergenerational respect between the youth volunteers and the community leaders at the Lubavitch Centre.

Working in the event space across North and West Yorkshire, I always aim to bring a storytelling approach to my images. A great photograph tells you exactly what an event felt like, not just what it looked like. Seeing the energy in the room at this year's ICA dinner made that job incredibly easy.
