COMING SOON: The Kasey Venturi Series 2 (The Lyco Slayer)

Since the Series 1 launched back in May, we’ve had a massive amount of messages and emails from performers wanting to know how the Kasey Venturi design actually works. Because the Series 1 is built so differently from traditional gear, it’s sparked a lot of conversation about its architecture and why it delivers such a distinct performance edge. We appreciate the interest, and because of that feedback, we’ve been working on a "maximum output" version. We want to be 100% clear: The Series 2 is not going to replace the Series 1.

The Evolution: Series 1 vs. Series 2

The Kasey Venturi Series 1 was developed to give you elite-level performance in a simple, non-mechanical platform. While other specialized props rely on complex, mechanically-assisted systems that demand an hour of scrubbing and maintenance after every show, the Series 1 is a gravity-fed design. It’s built for the performer who wants high-end, reliable results without the constant technical headache.

The Series 2 is the Heavy Hitter. If the Series 1 is your precision, low-maintenance tool, the Series 2 is for when the performance calls for a true showstopper. It’s an evolution of the craft that pushes beyond all expectations. It’s designed for those moments where you need raw power and absolute dominance on stage. While the Series 1 is the most efficient and reliable prop in a storm, the Series 2 is a heavily scaled-up and modified evolution of that engineering—it is the most powerful, next-gen spectacle on the UK market, period.

The Reality Check

Because the Series 2 is so heavily scaled up, the risks are huge. This is not a prop you can just pick up and wing, and it is absolutely not built for "clock swinging"—that’s when the prop is held straight up above the head and then rapidly swung in a downward arc toward the ground. Some people might get away with that technique using standard retail lycopodium props, but applying it to a high-output, high-mass system like the
Series 2 is just wrong and incredibly dangerous.

If you’re performing barefoot or wearing synthetic costumes—like polyester, nylon, spandex, or cheap petroleum-based fabrics from fast-fashion sites—this technique pretty much guarantees you’ll destroy your costume. More importantly, you’re putting yourself at risk of severe, life-altering burns that are going to land you in the hospital.

There’s no bluffing through a build of this calibre; if you’re using this gear, you must be wearing fire-safe, natural fibre clothing. If you lack the discipline or don't respect how the prop works, you’re going to turn a high-paying gig into a medical emergency. This prop is strictly for seasoned professionals who have extensive experience with special effects and high levels of radiant heat, and who have an absolute commitment to fire safety and awareness.

Getting Your Hands on One

We’re only taking on builds for the Kasey Venturi Series 2 after a technical consultation call. We need to make sure you have the physical conditioning and safety setup to handle high-mass, high-output gear in uncontrolled environments.

You can keep betting your reputation on mass-produced, standard-issue hardware, or you can step up to proper, purpose-built outdoor engineering.
Stay tuned for the official drop. Build it right. Own the stage.

The Kasey Venturi (SERIES 1) inspired by Kasey Claybourn

The Environment of Expectation

There is a massive difference between a casual set and a headline stage. In a beer garden, you’re background noise. But on a Regional Headline Tour, the rules change. When a family has paid £50 to stand in a freezing field for a spectacle, you aren’t just "the entertainment." You are the reason they are there.
When 100,000 people have their phones out to capture the memory they paid for, there is no "shrugging off" a malfunction. You have one shot. If your gear duds and puffs yellow dust at the climax of your set, there is nowhere to hide. "It was a bit windy" isn't an excuse for a professional; it’s a confession of poor equipment.

The Visionary: Why the "Kasey"?

The Kasey Venturi Series 1 is named after a high-end international performer and visionary who was the first to acknowledge a hard truth: the industry standard was no longer good enough.
The inspiration for this series came during the 2025 Bonfire Night Tour. While others with 20 years of experience relied on "luck" and watched their effects fail in the gale, Kasey Claybourn saw the difference. She watched as my prototype didn't just survive the tour—it thrived in it. In conditions that killed every other prop on stage, this design produced the largest, most consistent fire effects the veterans on-site had seen in their 20-year careers.
Since that tour, I have spent the last six months refining, testing, and perfecting that prototype. Kasey didn't just want a better prop; she demanded a new standard of reliability for the global stage. The Series 1 is the result of that six-month engineering sprint.

The End of the "12-to-6" Failure

Most performers are still relying on primitive designs from the early 2000s. Some try to fix the failure by jumping to massive 120mm flat-wicks or "hacking" their gear with mesh and jubilee clips. They are just masking a design flaw with more fabric—actually moving the flame away from the powder’s path. They simply cannot handle a fast clock-swing when the weather turns nasty.
With Lycopodium prices at an all-time high, being "cheap" with your equipment is the most expensive mistake you can make. Every time you swing and get a "puff" instead of a "blast," you are literally burning your own profit.

The Series 1 Engineering

* Modular Mastery: The only fully modular system on the market. Our proprietary threaded architecture allows you to strip the unit to the core, flush the internals, and actually maintain your gear for life. No more disposable, crimped tubes.

* Internal Geometric Porting: We’ve binned the restrictive "mesh hacks." The Series 1 features an internally ported core that stabilises the powder column. This creates a clean, high-velocity laminar flow that won't clog, damp-up, or sputter mid-performance.

* The Venturi Ignition Zone: We’ve engineered a precise "bloom chamber" between the nozzle and the ignition source. This ensures the powder aerosolises and hits the heat every single time—no matter the wind speed or the centrifugal force of your swing.

* The Rope Wick Advantage: The Series 1 features a high-density, compressed Rope Wick. It creates a 3D, textured flame-core that "grips" the powder and refuses to let go.

* Storm-Proof Pilot: Unlike the standard 25mm or 50mm flat-wicks found on basic or hobbyist designs, this will not fail you. While other props go out like a candle in the wind, this is a sustained, high-output burner that stays lit when the elements are fighting to kill it.

The Legacy Upgrade Program

We aren't just launching a new prop; we’re raising the industry standard. If you are currently running a compatible lycopodium system that isn't performing to a headline standard, we offer a professional Recycle & Upgrade service. Send us your legacy gear, and we will retro-fit it with the Venturi Series 1 internals and Rope Wick architecture. Stop struggling with outdated tech and bring your kit into the modern era.

The Reality Check

The Series 1 is built specifically for Special Effects Professionals and those with extensive experience in high-output fire effects. Because it is engineered to be Wind-Defiant, the pilot flame is significantly more robust than a standard wick. This prop requires advanced extinguishing techniques and professional-grade safety equipment. If you aren't yet at the level where you are managing sustained, high-capacity fire effects, we recommend continuing with the standard alternatives on the market.

The Bottom Line

You can bet your headline reputation on a basic, off-the-shelf tube and hope for a calm night, or you can invest in the Kasey Venturi Series 1.
When the cameras are rolling and the crowd is waiting, don’t give them a dud. Buy it once. Build it right. Own the stage.

Social media is a lie. You see a "perfect" fireball and think it’s skill, but it's usually just six failed takes and an edit.

The truth? Most "pros" are still using gear designed in the early 2000s. That 20 year old tech was built for indoor theatres, not a windy night in North Yorkshire.

We’ve all seen the flop:

You swing for the big finale, gravity fails at 6 o'clock, and the powder hits the grass while the flame burns back towards your hand. 🌬️❌

I got tired of performing with antiques. So I built the future.

I’ve re-engineered the industry standard to be virtually wind proof. No more "swing and a miss." No more wasted fuel. No more looking basic because of a breeze.

The Evolution is Coming:
✅ Wind-Locked Ignition – No more fighting the gusts.
✅ Massive Capacity – Built to last longer.
✅ Zero Waste – The powder hits the flame, every time.

Dropping at the end of the month. Stop praying for no wind. Start bringing the heat. 🛡️🔥

The biggest hand held prop we have ever made.

A Fire Horse has no saddle because nobody is meant to control it. It is a pure, unbridled Yang fire on top of fire. If you’re still waiting for 'the right time' or 'the right kit,' you’ve already lost. The visionary doesn’t wait for the equipment; they build the equipment. Stop being a spectator to your own potential. Drill the holes, weld the joints, and let your passion run wild until the 'standard' looks like a shadow.
